OK it is a given that those are some radical posts hand picked from a homer board. It is not far fetched to believe that Auburn has a chance to tie this series in your/our lifetime. That is really what you're saying in this post, that this is impossible. It is not. As bad as it pains bama fans to admit it the run that got your program the lead it has in the series was manufactured with scholarship advantages and a veritable farm team of football talent throughout the southeast. It's not off to say that at the time there were families in the South that would steer their kids to the pride of the region just to get some glint of respect from a nation that looked down on the South as a people. Alabama football benefited from a desire from a inferiority complex by southern people that led to a funneling of talent to the big 'red machine' that could garner some respect for a proud people who deserved it. Now where you and all your counterparts have failed is that you didn't respect or realize that it wasn't about YOU. You distorted and maimed the trust of the region into a chest thumping, narcissistic beast that forgot the intention of that feeder system. This ushered in the despots that have controlled Alabama football in the modern era. So the rules were changed to save you and your ilk from yourselves. The rest of the programs caught up and now there is an equal playing ground. Until you guys wake up and realize that these days there is just as good a program across the state (minus the delusional vocal majority that will be your downfall), then you will be living in a fantasy world that clouds your take on reality and taints your substantial accomplishments.

you are like the movie clerks.... non-stop stream of tiresome boring bullshite.

look... Alabama has the lead... it will be a LONG time, if ever before Auburn could take the lead in the "all time series."

with the amount of energy you expend trying to convince this board that Auburn is somehow better in some way than Alabama, you would do well to realize that YOU seem to be obsessed. when you talk about what "pains Bama fans" it's just hypocrisy at best my friend.

sooooo.... we have deduced that you're a boring, hypocritical, bullshite artist. also, one other thing. i'll bet you spend a lot of time behind a mirror don't you?? i honestly believe you might touch yourself when you look back over your posts because of your understanding of vocabulary.

GOOD job by the way. Let me be the first one to compliment how AWESOME your vocabulary is dude. it is freaking -amazing-... i mean, your grammar blows donkey nuts, but no big DEAL man.. because you make up for it with words like "despots, and manufactured, and narcissistic, and veritable, and distored and maimed, and ushered, and substantial" .... and just wow man

it's just over guys...i'm sick of you running amok as uneducated fools on this board, i've spent half a lifetime studying and writing about this rivalry and it has come painfully apparent that this new generation of bama fans has no idea about the past of the REC and the politics of football in the state of Alabama...if you don't like what I post, pleas refute it with facts and well formed opinions but for too long your fan base has gotten away with being ill informed bandwagon miscreants. Even you know that's true. I'm going to bring the truth, filtered through my years around this rivalry. Call me what you will, it won't stop the truth.

M2pro: You seem to have some intelligence about you, don't hide it under a bushel. Don't jump on the anti-intellectual bandwagon that my namesake warned would dominate society. Since when is a nominal vocabulary something to be mocked? That is the mark of decline in society. I'm not trying to be condescending, this is how i write, for good or ill. It's not a put down, it's me. I honestly feel these things and then I write them here. If you don't feel the same way, meet me half way and tell me how I'm wrong. Don't make fun of me for using 'big words'.

I just cannot fathom how fans of a school that leads the SEC and sits at #3 nationally in major NCAA violations have the nerve to accuse anyone else of being dirty.

ITAT is like Jonestown, and everyone is on the koolaid.

and miscreants... and amok... and dude... you're just the smartest guy EVER.

dude, if you really think anyone here believes that you're a writer it's just painfully sad. your use of grammar is among the worst i've seen on this forum. and we have some damn idiots on this forum. i'm sure you sound normal when you talk, but you're no writer brother.

your posts are worthless, and you won't have ANY friends here soon enough ( if you have any yet ). no one here likes you... change your attitude, angles or something... you aren't -nearly- as smart as you've convinced yourself that you are. trust all of us.

auburn is what it always has been- a pretty good program across the state from an elite program. Its funny you mention scholarships- did alabama get more than auburn? of course not, so how is there an advantage? The fact is, Auburn is a perenial 8-9 win team.
Even in this, one of Alabama's worse decades since the 50's, Alabama still has 4 10 plus win seasons to Auburn's 2. Since the SEC split, Alabama has been to Atlanta 7 times- Auburn 3. Alabama has won 3 times- Auburn 1. Auburn has zero national championships to Alabama's 2. Auburn has had back to back 10 win seasons ONE time in their history- Alabama has just done it again.
Since 1990 Alabama has 3 SEC titles to Auburn's 1.
The advantage Alabama has to Auburn is the same as USC to UCLA, Texas to Texas A&M, Iowa to Iowa St. Its history will always mean its easier for Bama to getback to elite than Auburn. You can say what you want to, but it took only three years for Alabama to go undefeated and win yet another national title after the Shula debacle. Auburn is a good program, Alabama is elite. And that ain't changing.

By the way, Bill Hicks was vaguely funny at best, overrated, and wasn't particularly bright. I love how you say you've spent half your life writing about this rivalry. Where have you published? You say refute your facts, yet all you've thrown out are vague accusations with no source material- probably why you haven't been published (a guess, I know, but I bet its accurate).

Just stop. I am saying this for your own good, I am an Auburn fan. I am a beat writer for Auburn in Lee County. You are mistaken about whom ever it is that you think I am. Really, this is not a flame, by your join date you have never seen me post here.

On second thought, lets get this crap over with now. You make 2 points in your ramblings.

Point 1- Alabama won with scholarship advantages. Guess what, Auburn had the EXACT SAME rules as Alabama. There wasn't a special "Bama Rule" which gave Alabama 130 scholarships and Auburn 85- they had the exact same rules. Guess what that means??? That's right Cheryl- there was no advantage!!!

Point 2- Players were 'steered' toward Alabama for the glory of the old south. Which players? Joe Namath? I'm sure he was very concerned about the old south. Or, could it have been that Alabama has been very good at hiring good recruiters. Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas (a Notre Dame grad, by the way) Bear Bryant, Gene Stallings and Nick Saban. IF people steered players to Bama for some southern ideal, why was Bryant able to recruit elite athlets at Texas A&M and Kentucky? KENTUCKY for God's sake! Why was Wallace Wade able to take Duke to a Rose Bowl? Nick Saban was a great recruiter before he got to Bama. Alabama has won conference titles under EIGHT different head coaches- national titles under five different head coaches. Face it- Alabama made better coaching hires than Auburn.

You must not be a very good beat writer- you've yet to quote a source.

I'm going to take your points down one at a time:

Contrary to what you have been told AUBURNis the program that started the football dominance that this great state enjoys:

Auburn defeated Alabama in the first 2 Iron Bowls in Feb. 1893 and Nov. of 1893, then won the next 5 of 7 in 1895,1900,1901,1902, and 1904. Alabama won two of the first nine contest in 1894 and 1903. I'm not living in the past it just take a lot of education to undo what you've been culturally ingrained to believe. Auburn started as the elite program in this state. To be continued...
