In 1971 a 10-0 Bama met a 9-0 barn team in the Iron Bowl. Bama was ranked #4, the barn #5. One Pat Sullivan had just been awarded the Heisman prior to the game. What happened? Bama beat the hell out of the barn 31-7 with Johnny Musso running for 167 yards and 2 TD's. Heisman award winner Sullivan ran once for -2 yards and threw for 14/27 for 121 yards and 2 interceptions-did I mention that Musso ran for 167 yards and 2 TD's? Would you conceed that 119 yards is not a Heisman winner performance? I watched Mr. Sullivan get off his back many times during the game.
What about the rest of the year: Sullivan threw for 162 completions on 281 attempts for a total of 2012 yards, 11 interceptions (yes, 11) and 20 TD's. On 191 attempts, Musso rushed for 1088 yards scoring 16 TD's. In three Iron Bowls, Musso amassed 467 yards rushing. Musso had a turf toe injury prior to the game in 1971 and was not expected to play. The barn, showing their class came out with a "Stop the Wop" bumper sticker that healed Musso in a week. He ran over them, under them, through them and around them. It was no contest.
So, when you arse hole barners start talking about Mark Ingram and his poor showing in your game, think about Mr. Sullivan and his Heisman, then KMCA.

GTFO GUMP
Not all Auburn fans are downing Ingram's totally unearned Heisman like other Auburn fans are. So quit accusing us of doing so.

Agreed, Sullivan's Heisman has never been near as prestigous in my mind as Bo's.

I remember that game also!
Late in the Fourth Quarter Musso started favoring his leg and limped to the sideline for one play. Bama was down to the Barn goal line and Musso is seen acting like he's begging Coach
Bryant to let him go back in and the TV shows Bear shaking his head no and Musso is appealing to him and Bear pushes him to back in. Musso is really hobling by now. I'm thinking why is he back in he's hurt?? Bama calls time out and appears Musso may not get the handoff. They snap the ball handed it off to Johnny Musso he goes around right end for the Score..Crowd at Legion Field goes Crazy!! He wasen't really hurt just another Kodak Moment in Tide Football!!

Man I loved Johnny Musso, he was the Italian Stallion. He should have won a Heisman just for his toughness.

Thanks once again for offering up the Barner viewpoint.
The entire body of work that is a college football season doesn't matter to an Aub. The only thing that matters is what happens in the Iron Bowl.
Enjoy 1957.

Okay. Delete Ingram's IB stats and we're good.

Wow. Ingram beat him by 78 yards and 1 Touchdown....oh yeah, and Bo had one less game.

Oh yeah, and Bo still laughs.

Ingram beat Bo by 78 yards and 1 Touchdown and sat out 3 full halfs (1.5 games). Therefore your argument came back around to make you look like the stupid Aubie that you are. Do you want to continue with this? If Ingram sucks, then the greatest player in your program's history must also suck, seeing as he has the numbers to prove it.
Oh yeah, and we still laugh at Auburn.

If Ingram sucks
First of all, find where I have ever said that Ingram sucks. Find it. You won't. He is a great running back, I've always said that so wash the sand out of your vagina.

If you are going to compare that, how much did Bo sit out? You act as if he played every down, of every game.
Now, are you honestly saying that Ingram is the greatest athlete from Bama and he is a better athlete than Bo Jackson?
