Texas vs. USC didn't have this much talent evenly spread out.

There were a lot of high draft picks on the field in that game.

Not trying to flame. I just said USC-Texas when you asked if there was a bigger game. That game was for the BCSNC, so it is automatically a bigger game than a conference championship.

Texas/USC didn't have this firepower

Name the significant pros that played in that game.

I think we all know about UF's depth until I need to I'll leave off their NFL talent but I would assume it's equal to or better than Bama's. I know their entire secondary will probably get PT at the next level.

Alabama's Future NFL Starters:

Mark Ingram
Trent Richardson
Julio Jones
Collin Peek
Mike Johnson
Drew Davis (?)

Terrance Cody
Brandon Deaderick
Marcell Dareus
Rolondo McClain
Nico Johnson
Eric Anders (?)
Mark Barron
Kareem Jackson (?)
Javy Arenas

ST:
Leigh Tiffin

That is 16 people from Bama's roster that should have multi-yeared careers in the NFL, not to mention there could be a couple I didn't list that have the potential.

This is a Tiger Rantesque question.

Ok, here is a list for you..

quote:

Four players who participated in the game went on to become top ten picks in the 2006 NFL Draft: Reggie Bush (2nd overall, New Orleans), Vince Young (3rd overall, Tennessee), Michael Huff (7th overall, Oakland), and Matt Leinart (10th overall, Arizona). Taitusi Lutui, Fred Matua, LenDale White, David Kirtmen, Winston Justice, Cedric Griffin, David Thomas, Frostee Rucker, Dominique Byrd, Darnell Bing, Jonathan Scott, LaJuan Ramsey, and Rodrique Wright were drafted in the next six rounds

thats just the players drafted that year.. not everyone who played in the game.. JUST THAT YEAR..

....a 20 something Bammer fan is now an NFL talent expert. That's OK, youthful enthusiasm is entertaining.

there are more players in Alabama's 2009 starting backfield that will get drafted than you have on that list.

Who off that list won't play in the pros then?

9 off that list from Bama will get drafted this year, so if UF holds up their side we'll have more drafted this year.

Let's not forget the '71 Nebraska team was not only the best team of the year, but also named the best team EVER by ESPN(and anyone else who follows the game).

Also, on a side note, they embarrassed #2 Alabama 38-6 in the Orange Bowl that year.....Beat them like a rented mule.

I wasn't around in '71. Which game are you talking about, ok so Nebraska was considered amazing who did they beat?

Specifics who played in that game that played in the Pros, what were their records, was it a NC or conference championship etc.

Well for a here and now argument I can back up people getting drafted, It'll be years before we know if they end up as starters. I feel comfortable those I named will start at some point in their NFL careers.

while probably not a better matchup, the Miami-Ohio State NCG had more talent than this game..
