UF and Bama were pretty much set up to have great seasons...lots of talent returning from teams that were awesome last year...

So say you give it to a coach that has turned around a program...

If UT and Arky could manage to both finish 8-4...I think you could reward either of these coaches considering 5-7 records last season...

I'd give the edge to Petrino based on strength of schedule....Am I way off base?

If UT wins out, I give it Kiffin for the Crompton turnaround.

Saban might deserve a look if Bama goes undefeated again in the regular season, that is one hell of an accomplishment.

I think if Tennessee goes 8-4, Kiffin would deserve it after all the flack he was getting in the preseason. I'm not sure some people would vote for him though. If Mullen wins a couple more at MSU and gets them to a bowl, he'd get some consideration. This is the first time since 1999 they've won two SEC road games in a season. If Petrino wins out, he'll be considered but he has to beat LSU. If Alabama wins the SEC and some of those other coaches mentioned lose again, I think Saban will get it. He was replacing a lot of offensive talent.

If state goes bowling i'd have to give it to Dan Mullen he has completely turned that offense around and has given state fans some high expectations for the future. :jump2:

They'll give it to Miles, for holding his tongue, after allowing what happened to his team. Kiffen probably been in too much trouble to be Coach of the year(How many violations does he really have,or reprimands).

If AU beats UGA he has a case for sure at 8-4. If he wins the Iron Bowl I think he wins no doubt.

As it stands now IMO, it's between Kiffin and Chizik. With a slight edge to Kiffin.

Chizk beat kiffin. Both went 5-7 last year. One has a heisman candidate one has 75 players on scholarship. Chizik should win over lame by a mile.

So when Arky finished 8-4 with a win over Chiz...also coming off an 5-7 season...

Does Petrino get the nod? As you see, I'm lobbying here

For Petrino you could say he faced the most daunting schedule.

Petrino doesn't deserve it and Kiffin won't get it.

Look for Meyer Saban or Chizik

Care to back up both of these?

Meyer or Saban will win it...I don't see how Chiz will even be in the mix...well, unless they beat Bama and then I would give it to him
