Bama9507,

So you think wildrebeltime is Danny Nutt? Interesting theory.

Listen guys you all have got to get off Houston Nutt he is NO LONGER the coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks. He is now an Ole Miss Rebel.

His offensive philosophy is quite simple and several high school teams in Arkansas use it and Arkansas use to run the same stuff in the 80s although sometimes the wishbone. He believes that a quarterback should make medium to small gain passes and use the running game to manage more talented teams with ball control and clock management. I think it will be hard for Houston moving forward especially with all the all pro coaching talent in our league to compete. He does a good job though of matching more talented teams with controlled runs and low risk passing. The way it is and the way it will always be with the NUTT.

OK. I guess Nutt lost some of O's recruits and is having to play with some of his own now. I forgot. I suppose you don't remember that Arkansas' Offensive Line couldn't pass block either under Nutt. I wonder why?

Nutt is a nut. He's a loser - always was and always will be. I wouldn't put my career in his hands unless I was a running back.

to Snead's "development" under Nutt. And people from the outside looking in wondered why Arkansas had a QB like Casey Dick 10 years into Nutt tenure. Wonder no more.

dumbest fricking thread of the day.

It is not houston nutt's fault Jevan Snead couldn't complete a pass to the back 5 yards away. It's not Houston Nutt's fault that Jevan misses open recievers. It's not Houston Nutt's fault that Jevan Snead is afraid of failure. I don't blame your parents for your awful arse threads.

That's what people said about Nutt's QBs at Arkansas too. Makes you wonder how just how much Nutt is working on the passing game in practice. Why do you think Nutt closed practices? He doesn’t want people second guessing him on how little he emphasizes the passing game in practice but he did the same thing at Arkansas. Believe what you want but the evidence strongly supports my argument.

Why would any top QB prospect even consider Ole Miss at this point? If you are going to go play in the SEC there are much better schools to go to. Heck Nutt ruined so many QBs he had to "invent" the wildcat/hog. But did he really invent it or just bring back the old wing t?

Do you think Snead has improved? Please defend your position.

Snead has shell shock from getting hit from his blind side too much this year. He can't hit the a back a few feet from him, and when he does hit receivers where he's supposed to, they drop it. This has nothing to do with Nutt's coaching. Snead needing to run instead of flinging bullshite passes out there has nothing to do with Nutt's coaching.

The inability to figure out that Snead should be rolling out more often and the fact that they should have run the wild rebel more often had everything to do with Nutt's coaching.

uh...hum...If they would go 1's vs 1's in practice against your daunted D...Don't you think they would get better?

So...goes back to coaching.

Practice is just not for the QB and WR's....

well when you are in pressure situs....you rely on your technique to get you through in football especially as a QB...Snead lacks that training (happy feet, pocket awareness, not setting his feet for his throws) and its obvious.

additionally you guys, and hog fans know this well, have no middle routes, no checkdowns, and no hot routes whatsoever...

both of those facts fall on coaching.

This is not a flame or intended to offend but Nutt has never consistently done well at calming a QB down, getting the QB focused and sharp and to perform. I've never seen him develop a QB or ever an adequate passing game. I cannot help but believe there are other coaches in the SEC and across the collegiate landscape that could do better with Snead than Houston. There are also better coaches at teaching pass blocking than Markeson (who I do think is a good offensive line coach).

Just an observation of watching Houston for over 11 years now.

a hot route is a check off between the QB and a reciever when they both see something they can exploit in the defense, the called route is changed to a hot route and thats where the ball goes regardless of the play called.

McFaddens TD pass to Felix couple years back would be considered a hot route

Neither. Gus Malzhan brought to Arkansas, then Nutt took credit for it and said Danny Nutt and David Lee had a hand in it.

Nutt is not a QB coach. He has always hired QB coaches.

It's not Nutt's philosphy to win or lose on QB play. Nutt wants to win with Running game, defense, and special teams, like Saban does. You can't count on a QB and offense to go into hostile road games and win. Well ,unless you have Florida's talent.

In the long run who knows which style is more condusive to success but the defense first philosphy has had more championship success.
