Ronnie Carswell...not much out on this guy yet, but he will get plenty of attention now.

This is something I've come to expect from Coach Saban this time of year. A lot of the commits are not really well known, or don't even have that big of an offer list. Most of them performed well in junior camps last summer, and got offers based off that. I suspecy Carswell will be three star type player, with good upside. He's quick and is a good pass catcher. He reminds me of Darius Hanks, who Alabama got out of Georgia two years ago.

Here's from Al.com
Ronald Carswell, a receiver from Macon, Ga., has informed the UA staff that he's committed for the 2010 signing class.
A 6-foot, 180-pounder, Carswell gained more than 600 yards receiving for Westside High, which was undefeated in the regular season. By the way, this was also the high school of Alabama cornerback Kareem Jackson before he went to prep school.
Carswell is not yet rated by the recruiting services. The second receiver of the class, he also had an offer from East Carolina.
"Alabama just felt like the right place for me," Carswell told BamaOnLine.com. "They offered me early and showed me a lot of love. I was impressed with the environment of the school and the fan support. They take football to heart down there. Coach Saban really just said I could play any of the wide receiver spots. He didn't have slot or flanker in mind really. He just said he wanted me on the field."

You said Alabama went undefeated last year. I'm not sure how this statement changes how that is untrue.

Report from a combine this weekend...
Guess he's not so bad after all!
quote:
"Wide Receivers
The top overall performer at the Atlanta Combine came from this position and he just committed to the University of Alabama. Ronald Carswell traveled up from Westside High School in Macon, Ga. and it was worth it for him.
We all knew he was a solid receiver, but he looked much more than that on Saturday. After running the 40 yard dash in 4.52 seconds, he put on a show against the defensive backs.
It started at the line of scrimmage when he made it difficult with his quickness for any defensive back to get a hand on him. From there, he had corners on their heels before his route running ability. After that, he created a lot of space between him and the defender giving the quarterbacks plenty of room to hit him in the open field. Carswell helped his stock tremendously on ******* with his performance inside Hallford Stadium."
