Gators Spring game observations...

I just watched this mess. Holy crap the offense has some improving to do. Just a few things I saw passively watching it.
Philo thew a bad interception Anthony Richardson against GA style where he didnt have nearly enough height under the ball with where that defender was.
Jones literally sacked himself with no defender even that close to him.
The center put the ball on the ground by bouncing it off his butt on his snap attempt.
I saw at least 3 passing plays where a tackle gave no resistance at all. The end literally ran right past them just like what was happening with our tackle in the A&M game this past season.
The only good looking drive was the hurry up at the end where Jones hit like a 40 yard TD but even that play the WR literally ran past the safety like he was in slow motion or something.and he was wide open.
O line and QB has me pretty nervous now.

It takes time man. The first year is the hardest

Napier left Sumrall quite a mess to clean up.

Yep hopefully they can correct some of this before the season starts.

You guys have plenty of time to get it right. I’m sure your boys will learn a bunch from the film

Spring games mean nothing

Faulkner is another UGA agent like Muschamp

At least you had one to observe.

Yep they can fool you sometimes like ours last season where we thought the offense was ready to go. Maybe its good getting a reality check like this.

Over time I've come to agree with your pessimistic view of UF football.
UF should be the premier program in the state of Florida.
frick Miami and FSU.
Get yawl's shite together!

Not expecting much year 1..it would be very insane to expect a ton year 1 with how bad we have been the last 2 years...just no timeouts after television breaks please..fricking Napier..will prob be 5-7ish..but hopefully we progress and improve the next few years I think it is fair to expect at leasy 5 wins year 1, 7 year 2, 9+ year 3..

I didn't watch your spring game but I can almost guess to a T what happened on offense. First off Philo will throw picks so don't be surprised by that. He was an interception machine at practice which is partly why Key wouldn't allow him any PT when King was healthy. Jones is probably the better QB but Philo will be given every chance to succeed in the fall because of Buster. The center Harrison Moore is not a good center. He would've been pushed to guard or to the bench had he stayed at Tech. His issue is snapping the ball. I see that hasn't changed. You're probably wondering why there is so much east to west passing along with WR screens out the arse. Get used to it. It will be the staple of the offense.
Philo will look for Stockton every chance he gets and especially when he gets in trouble. Stockton is crafty at finding holes in the secondary when the play breaks down. Singleton will drop a lot of passes. Especially deep balls. For every one or two he catches expect a drop in a huge situation. He can fly though but he pouts when he thinks he's not getting the ball enough so Buster will run reverses and jet sweeps for him to keep him happy. Harping is another one of Buster's boys. Decent athlete that doesn't want to block. He wants to be a pass catching TE and pouts when he's not getting the ball and half asses it when asked to run block. He's damn near unplayable because of his unwillingness to block. Hopefully you've got other TE's that are willing to block.
You're headed for an interesting fall. The QB thing (barring injury) will probably drag into the season with Philo getting the edge due to his relationship with Buster. You play two cupcakes to start the season so he'll probably play fine to start with but once you guys start playing some real teams the turnovers and inconsistencies may force Sumrall to push Buster to play Jones. Jones is the better runner and our offense was at its best when Haynes King was running to go along with everything else. Moore at center will be an issue for your line as well all season. You better hope your defense is elite to weather all the storms you're going to go through on offense.

I was expecting 8-4 but not so sure if this O line and QB situation doesnt improve a bunch. I think everywhere else we are pretty good. The Tackles and QB position scare me looking at the Spring game. Glad we open with 2 weak opponents to keep working on that.

Zamendela was the starting center and had the snap issue. Moore ran 2nd team. Harping ran 3rd. Buster threw downfield all game. You are the one that has about to be surprised.

Damn I hope it isnt that bad. If Philo isnt better than Jones we will be lucky to even have an average SEC startìng QB then if my thinking on Jones is accurate. An average SEC starting QB actually is pretty good if he is better than 8 of the other SEC starters.

I was there, it wasn't THAT bad. It's improvement from Napier for sure.
The O-Line looked fine. The QB situation will be interesting, but Jones is definitely better right now than Philo.
The D-line to me looked like an issue.
The WRs are by far the best group on the team.
It's April. Let's chill the frick out.
