Wonder this tournament will finally put a dagger in the NIT. With all the proceeds going to NIL, I could see it being a game changer. The brand of teams in this tourney is already bigger than most of the teams in the NIT.

I think it could but what I’ve read its only in 2nd year and was a B10/12 type setup. But due to venue I could see it grow and replace NIT. Its on better TV networks too. And the way they time it they don’t go head to head with N64 first 4 rounds which is smart. Starts on Wed which is a mostly dead sports day. At least they seem competent.
The challenge growing is it spreads games out longer so they’d have to move some to earlier. Only works if NIT is gone. And if they want burden of a bigger tourney. SEC is not part of their routine but they asked OU in this year which is why OU turned down NIT.
