Were you surprised when evil ole Nate did exactly what you called for him to do with Aden Holloway? He threw him off the team immediately. Is he more human in your minds now? Discuss….

Thug U.

By the way, where has been his wife these days, she is never seen?

ETA: The school kicked the kid off of campus, so, no…Nate did not initiate him off of the team.

I love the fact that Oats is thought of as being toxic. It keeps these other schools (especially holier than thou schools like UNC, etc) away from him while he just keeps Alabama winning.

This is very true. I don't think KU/UNC or Duke would ever touch him after the Brandon Miller debacle. Bruce was kinda similar but thankfully his checkered past was NCAA issues and not an attempted murder coverup.

Auburn fans seethe with jealousy any time Oats' name is mentioned.

Brandon Miller is doing pretty well in the pros, maybe after you detach your mouth from his nuts you could check out some highlights.

Would not include Kansas on that list. Nothing against them but I don't see it being a drawback for them.

The bottom line about Oats is that he goes way extra standing by his players. Other fan bases hate that when there's a situation like the one with Brandon Miller and they want blood or Bediako wanting to come back for another season.

It's not just all about winning though since he's consistently doing it in the opposite direction as well and that frustrates his own fan base at times.

Players like Bradley at (Arizona), Dioubate (Kentucky) and (Stephenson) have mentioned how helpful Oats was after they decided to transfer. It annoys a lot of fans that he's so supportive of players sitting out a season with minor injuries to preserve a year when they could help the team.

He tried to get a g-league guy eligible... for college.

He's a dirtbag in the age of anything goes.

You do realize John Calipari is Arkansas’ coach?

quote:

Calipari coached Kentucky to four Final Fours in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015. He also led UMass and Memphis to the Final Four in 1996 and 2008 respectively; those appearances were later vacated.

And your most famous coach and the university engaged in a very public war.

quote:

Arkansas fired Hall of Fame coach Nolan Richardson on March 1, 2002, primarily due to escalating tensions, a public meltdown, and his inflammatory remarks daring the university to buy out his contract. Following a losing season and strained relations, Richardson stated, “If they go ahead and pay me money, they can take the job tomorrow,” after a Feb 23, 2002, game
.

There were also reports of physical abuse by Richardson, old school Bob Knight coaching that didn’t even fly in the 90’s.

quote:

Richardson was known for his high-pressure style, but faced criticism regarding his treatment of staff and players during heated moments, including alleged physical incidents in practices

And then he sued the school for racism. He was way ahead of his time.

quote:

Richardson sued in federal court, alleging racial discrimination and violation of his free-speech rights, arguing he was held to a higher standard than white counterparts, specifically mentioning football coach Houston Nutt.

Arkansas fans should sit this one out.
