They look like white K-Swiss

Makes sense. Acuff’s game has been compared to Iverson more than once. Smallish, wiry, slasher.
Good for him. WPS.

So now he got a boatload no reason not to play one more year for the Hogs.

Kentucky fans punching the air right now. All this type of hype follows Cal

He's pretty much a guaranteed lottery pick. You don't turn down that kind of guaranteed money.

This makes no sense. Acuff got that deal through his own play.

True but he was going to be wherever Cal was coaching. Now Arkansas is reaping the “hype” rewards instead of the Cats.

Billy Richmond is wiry, the 5’10” kid who put up 30 on us from High Point(mad props) is wiry. Acuff is muscled up and that’s why he’s so hard to guard and such a good finisher. But yes, he’s not 6’6”, so I guess he’s smallish for a modern guard at 6’3”. However, also, to your point, his game reminds me a lot of Iverson.

BREAKING: Darius Acuff Jr is Reebok’s next Signature star.
Reebok will launch an Acuff signature shoe as he enters the NBA — making him just the 11th rookie in league history to launch his own sneaker during their debut season.
“The next HIM,” says Allen Iverson.
Decision to create Acuff signature shoe comes 30 years after company bet big on Iverson’s rookie year and launched the iconic Reebok Question in 1996.

Acuff is listed 6’3”, which means he’s probably closer to 6’1”. That’s small for an NBA guard. He is yoked for his size, but still appears thin (to me) on the court.
Having said all that, his intangibles, toughness are what makes him different. He’s going to be a very good NBA player.

Arkansas freshman star Darius Acuff Jr. has landed a signature shoe with Reebok, becoming the first NCAA men's athlete to receive one with a major U.S. brand while still in college, head of basketball at Reebok, Jide Osifeso, tells ESPN.
Acuff, 19, is ranked No. 8 on ESPN draft analyst Jeremy Woo's Big Board for the 2026 NBA draft.
Acuff, the SEC Player of the Year, became the first player to lead the conference in points and assists per game since Pete Maravich in 1969-70. Arkansas won the SEC tournament this month as well.
Acuff has scored 60 points this tournament to lead Arkansas to the Sweet 16, passing Kentucky's Pat Riley (58) for the most by an SEC player in their first two career NCAA tournament games within a single year, and is the second player in the past 50 years to average 30 points and five assists per game in their first two career NCAA tournament games, alongside Billy Donovan.
Acuff also became the second freshman since they became eligible in 1973 to begin his NCAA tournament career with consecutive games of at least 20 points and five assists, joining Chris Paul in 2004.
For Reebok, Acuff becomes the first men's basketball player to have a signature shoe since John Wall.

For the first time in months, Lane Kiffin isn't the name that appears most often in thread titles on this board. Even though it's not quite as annoying, we probably don't need Darius Acuff Watch like we had Lane Kiffin Watch.

His agent was smart to get the deal done while his stock was at it's zenith, Reebok will have regrets after the Zona game

Agree, and good point. Maybe 6’3” with the right shoes and getting measured by our training staff. More had to do with him being deceptively jacked. But like you said, bottom line is that he has a chance to be great. I’m starting to see him use his strength more on defense to split screens and he’s realizing he can be more effective without having to give up too much offensive stamina (which we have to factor in as much as it sucks due to our need for him to control the game and produce at a certain level - especially at the end of games).
