Extension worthy in the rest of the SEC's opinion!

Lol, I bet. I’m afraid he’s already done enough to get one year. We have a new AD and this is making his job easier to keep. I want him gone we’ll never get over the hump with Moser. It’s tough to want to win but needing to lose for a new coach. It’s a strange year.

The event that changed our season. Georgia was win 1 of our 7-2 streak.

Hes always been a good March coach

He does well at smaller schools where he has 3 to 4 years and develops them. NIL era is hard on him since it’s not long enough to teach his systems and wants.
But it makes sense why he’s better end of year. I just don’t think he’s a good fit for modern era in big program. Nice guy but not a good enough coach for this team

I disagree. In the NIL era he is built only for big programs where he has the NIL to retain his roster. At a small school everyone would get poached. If OU fully committed the funds i think he could do well. Who knows maybe they already do and he just isnt good
Idk i was a big believer in him

You likely didn’t see all the meltdowns we had this year. 9 losses in a row by every way imaginable. Good coaches don’t lose games like that. Hell during tx game he had em beat and allowed it to make overtime. He won but it was another epic meltdown at end of regulation.

Three of those seven were against dregs Auburn, LSU and SC.

I always thought he was a good coach. The way he got Loyola Chicago to play was a thing of beauty.
I think with enough NIL he could do big things at OU. Not sure how much they are giving him to work with.
Sounds like OU fans are ready to move on though.

OU spent some money in the portal for this season, right around the top 10 in a portal class.

He probably would do well at Memphis

I just don’t believe in him. He’s in his 5th year. He needs a smaller school where players stay 3-4 years. His systems are tough and as seen this year they get better longer into season. It doesn’t work in NIL era. We paid good money in portal, heck his nickname is “Portal” Moser.
Our problem is we have a new AD and he might be willing to give him another year. We were stupid when we extended him before with little results. Will new AD act quickly? Most of fanbase is done with him. And it hurts program as there is no buzz. Only anticipation how he will find new ways to lose winnable games. He choked Tx game at end of Reg and luckily Tx was not up for the OT challenge.
He’s had to fight every year just to make last 4 in and has failed at that some too.
His recent 7-2 run might get the new AD to keep him another year.
Here’s his buyout info its doable but still dumb we extended him to begin with.
According to reporting by The Oklahoman last February, Moser’s deal runs through June 30, 2028. After this season, the remaining guaranteed salary includes $3.4 million for the 2027 season and $3.5 million for the 2028 season, totaling $6.9 million in remaining guaranteed compensation.
If Oklahoma were to fire Moser without cause, the university would owe 75 percent of that remaining guaranteed value. The buyout is paid on a pro rata monthly basis and includes an offset clause that would reduce the payout if Moser is hired elsewhere.
Based on those terms, Moser’s buyout after this season stands at approximately $5.175 million.

I don't blame you.
I thought the hire was great at the time. The way his teams played at Loyola Chicago were awesome.
Sometimes it's just not meant to be. Unforeseen circumstances, or just bad luck/scouting on certain players can ruin a coaches chances to excel.
And I agree that he's the type of coach that can develop players over time into a special team, but in this day and age of NIL that's next to impossible. Too much turnover, and if you are unable to adjust to that you might as well retire or take a smaller job.

Just to clarify...That name is kind of a mixed bag in Oklahoma...
Some people called him that because they thought he was a portal wizard by getting a few high profile guys.
And others used it as a pejorative because OU is pretty much a revolving door as a program.
Grant it... most places are these days. But it was at OU from the day they hired Moser on.
