I noticed that Arkansas was 1-0 while being ranked #1...

I researched it...

Arkansas went to #1 after beating Texas 27-24 on October 16, 1965.

In the Oct 18 poll the went to AP #1...

The next weekend they beat the hell out of North Texas State by a score of 55-20... but lost the #1 ranking to Michigan State for some reason.

Sucked for Arkansas after missing out on the NC the year before when they were the best team.

I thought Auburn has like 25 national championships now? How can they only ever have played 6 games while ranked #1?

Alabama's historical dominance of college football is no surprise.

But Miami, Nebraska, Tennessee and Penn St collectively going a quarter of a century without any being ranked #1 for a week is pretty amazing.

Moo U and Mississippi State being ranked #1 in the last 20 years is pretty shocking, although I remember both being ranked very high at some point.

Can you name the two teams that have been ranked AP #1 but aren't currently P4?

Without using the Google, I'll say Yale and Army.

it’s impressive for sure. that one jumped out at me right away.

a few other things too.

First off, I am SHOCKED LSU is above FL and Michigan and Tenner.

Next, how in TF does Texas have THREE ties at #1 and 9 losses. Their stat line is just way out of whack compared to the folks right around them. Its almost like they just can’t handle the success, lol!

Finally, the USC and ND all time stats vs their most recent stats are quite telling. Most of that shite was in the 20th century.
