1. Auburn goes to the Final Four.
2. Bama panics and fires Avery Johnson.. replaced him with Nate Oates
3. Bama desperately tries to catch Auburn and lucks their way into a Final Four of its own by virtue of beating only one opponent seeded as a 1-5 seed during the entire path.
4. Auburn makes its second Final Four in 7 seasons.
5. Oates realizes his 2026 team is incapable of making it past the first weekend so he cheats and uses a local judge to destroy all norms of the sport.
6. Bama plays a player who signed away his eligibility when signing an NBA contract in an attempt to keep up with Auburn.
7. Floodgates are opened and more NBA players begin trying to come back to college within a week.
Jealousy ultimately caused the downfall of the sport. Bama just couldn’t handle it, so they had to destroy it.

Ah .... Psychological Projection ! Very nicely done too !
Unacceptable thoughts, feelings, or traits—such as insecurity, hostility, or envy are often ( unconsciously ) attributed onto another person or group.

This seems like more of a jang thing to post but I’ll allow it.

From all accounts Pat Dye and Bear Bryant were close friends. And Auburn football is dead and buried.

Umm...they were friends..thought it was well known

It really eats at Auburn fans that Nate Oats is a better coach than Bruce Pearl ever was. Meanwhile the Tigers are acting like college basketball North Korea. "When old Glorious Leader retires, his son must become new Glorious Leader! There is no other way!"

Their campus certainly looks like it.

Wrong it was actually Johnny Majors that did that. Bear Bryant hated Tennessee way more than the Cow college

You do realize Alabama fired Avery before the Barn had even played their 2nd weekend tourney game that year right?
It EATS at Barners how quickly Bama surpassed their lucky achievements and made fat Pearl retire

Think he was officially let go between the second round and sweet 16 that year.

Not true. And it was obvious to Bama what was happening. Exact timeline:
2/27/19: Auburn beats Georgia
3/2/19: Auburn beats Miss St
3/5/19: Auburn beats Bama at Bama
3/9/19: Auburn beats #5 Tennessee
3/14/19: Auburn beats Mizzou in SECT
3/15/19: Auburn beats S Carolina in SECT
3/16/19: Auburn beats Florida in SECT
3/17/19: Auburn beats #8 Tennessee; wins SEC Tournament Championship
3/21/19: Auburn beats New Mexico State in 1st Round of NCAAT
3/23/19: Auburn beats #17 Kansas in 2nd Round of NCAAT
3/24/19: Alabama fires Avery Johnson
3/29/19: Auburn beats #3 N Carolina in Sweet 16 of NCAAT
3/31/19: Auburn beats #7 Kentucky in Elite 8 of NCAAT
The writing was on the wall with this team. I’m sure Auburn winning 10 straight games, sweeping Bama, winning an SEC Title for a second season in a row, and demolishing blue blood Kansas the night before had absolutely no factor in Bama firing Avery Johnson.

LOL. Sure. Nate Oats excels at beating the tar out of crappy opponents but then mostly shits the bed against quality teams. Check out his record in the NCAA Tournament.
Nate Oats NCAA Tournament games by Opponents’ Seed:
1-seed Duke (2025)- Loss
1-seed Connecticut (2024)- Loss
1-seed N Carolina (2024)- Win
5-seed San Diego State (2023)- Loss
6-seed Clemson (2024)- Win
6-seed BYU (2025)- Win
7-seed St Mary’s (2025)- Win
8-seed Maryland (2023)- Win
10-seed Maryland (2021)- Win
11-seed UCLA (2021)- Loss
11-seed Notre Dame (2022)- Loss
12-seed Grand Canyon (2024)- Win
13-seed Charleston (2024)- Win
15-seed Iona (2021)- Win
15-seed Robert Morris (2025)- Win
16-seed Texas A&M Corpus Christi (2023)- Win
In five seasons, Oats has a grand total of ONE win in the NCAA Tournament against a seed of 1-5. He’s 1-3 against those higher rated seeds. He has more losses to 11-seeds than he does wins over seeds 1-5.
The fact he’s only faced 4 opponents with a seed higher than 6 is laughable. What are the odds of getting such a favorable path every time yet he still has so little to show for.
He’s just not a coach who can make deep tournament runs unless he has an extremely easy path.
Compare that to Bruce. Pearl was 5-4 against teams seeded 1-5 in the NCAA Tournament and had just one loss to a team seeded 11 or lower.
Pearl and his two Final Fours had a MUCH more impressive tournament resume compared to Nate Chokes.

Is that why he has a winning record against Auburn and a losing record to Tennessee

He has gone to more Sweet 16s than Pearl did at Auburn. He has the same amount of elite 8s, and one less final four, but has coached 5 fewer years.
Why are you trying to troll Oats when he has owned Auburn? Only Tennessee and Florida can talk shite about Oats tbh

Facts only on that post
If it’s just lucky draws that have us making the 2nd weekend every year, I guess I’ll just have to accept that
