I cannot get past the paywall at Al.com to see the regions but from what I can tell the private schools and public schools will split during the postseason.
Does this mean private school recruits will go back to public schools or will the private school championships still be lucrative enough to stay private. What is expected dynamic here.
Also, they did away with the 7A classification.

It means you can play a regular season game vs private but playoffs are seperate.

Your roster is locked before the first game. You cant add people mid season like college basketball.

I agree.
But will the private school recruits that had been recruited to play there stay in the private system. I am guessing their private championships wont have the same fanfare as the public championships so I dont know why money would stick around. Will there be a movement back to the pubic schools in other words. I am not asking if they will move during the season, but before the season. We are currently in the offseason.

It is really only a smaller community issue. If you are any good, you will move to one of the large public schools.

You would think that but my rival in baseball and basketball in HS didn't even have a football program and now they are a behemoth...Mars Hill.
They steal recruits from public schools now.
What is equally interesting is Florence is now 5A
Before the merger of Bradshaw and Coffee into Florence High both were 6A.

State of Georgia has a separate playoff classification for private schools (mostly dominated by the Christian schools). They play their championship game at the Benz, just like the public school classifications do, and my assumption is that the on campus post season games draw pretty well. They don't get the TV eyes until the championship game, but most of the lower division public schools don't either.

Did that just change? Because, Auburn's own Jared Smith says hello!

5A is brutal for the backend many have 500 less students.
4A and 3A should be larger. They should eat up all the schools between 600-250 Students. Split those schools right down the middle into 4 and 3A. The rest trickle down to 2 and 1A

The High school I married into actually got it really nice now and they get to avoid Madison Academy in the playoffs.

Yep we do this in Ga and its a good thing. It lets normal high schools not be forced to compete with the recruiters. I doubt anyone will leave the private schools because the benefits won't change. It will just help level the comp for the public schools.

In Alabama it’s primarily the public schools that recruit athletes not the private schools

It’s both. Growing up Briarwood recruited me every year with a free scholarship.
I told Dr. Kinard, thank you for the offer but we are better in sports and I can’t get to the school. I had to ride the cheese wagon until I got a drivers license.

Also I don’t see why they split off the private school especially in the larger programs because of school choice you can go to school wherever you want as long as you can get to school.

In Alabama the public schools recruit illegally so I’m not sure how the rule change was supposed to fix any of those issues.
