Don't look now LSU, but Seaton is in serious talks with MSU

Seems MSU has become a player in the bidding wars. I was shocked when I saw he was visiting MSU. Was even more shocked they had the money to match or beat.
They were able to take a recruit we wanted too.

I’m not sure I get the move to spend millions on one player on a team about 19 players short of a competent roster.
However, if they wanna blow their load on him, by all means!

The roster was horrible on the lines. They still won 5. Took UT to OT. Had TX down by 19 in the 4th. Had FL beat.
All of those games they win with a decent OL and DL. That OL allowed like 45 sacks.

O no! Keep us posted please.

Right, but why not spread that money across the trenches.

They have.
They just signed an OT that's been playing since 2022. So that may mean that MSU made their choice and you are about to get Seaton.
But they are spending and Seaton knows what he is getting with the OL coach there because it was his OL coach that got him to this point.

Seaton has the connection to MSU's o-line coach, but it sure seems like this is a highest bidder situation, wherever he lands.

My understanding is it's between LSU and MSU(and they have the money to land him). He is not interested in just money. He's playing the long game for the NFL. So he wants to be in the SEC.
Time will tell, but it's an interesting world.

Ah, that makes sense.
I know there’s a lot of different strategies that go team by team. Thanks for the info

Interesting.
MSU lost its starting LT to Bama, signed the starting LT from UAB and is pursuing the best LT in the portal from Colorado.

Wouldn’t surprise me. I don’t really have a great feeling.

I am seriously doubting our coach's ability. Good lord why would we go after that kid?
He sucks! he got MSU's QB killed. I watched him literally step wrong and allowed the DE untouched to the QB.
WTH are we doing??

I do think it's LSU or MSU. I don't think anybody else is in play

He allowed 3 sacks in over 500 pass pro snaps. Not saying he’s going to be a first round pick but a decent pickup. Some experience to go with the talented young players at tackle.

Again, that's not the whole picture. He had their QB running for his life. Just because all of them did not result in a sack doesn't mean that he is good. He isn't. It's why MSU did not retain him.
double digit hurries 18 to be exact. Horrible run blocker. Finished the 2025 season with a run-blocking grade of 55.3 at Mississippi State, according to PFF. He allowed 7 sacks in his starts.
His over all PFF grade is 60!

BCreed I'm quite happy with our HS and portal haul, if we get Seaton it will be icing on the cake. His former coach is at MSU.

Why are you having a meltdown over this? Unless one of the young tackles just can’t hack it, this guy is a depth piece.

Lebby coached a few games away too
