This article is a scary look into the television C suite about college football. It’s clear evidence that they don’t get it. Their own bottom line is blinding them to the danger the sport’s future viability is. Any changes to the current anarchy will be fought by the networks who think everything is fine.

I noticed people speak about "the networks" like their some conglomerate or alien lol.
It's actually individuals who are making these decisions. So who are they? Where are they from?

Advertisers like increase viewing. People are watching teams they never watched before. I saw Indiana play three or four games this year and I don't think I ever watched them before. Nick saying JMU and Tulane are triple A teams is wrong they are more like single A or less. Indiana may be Triple A. The NFL had lost me to the college game, but I am returning to the NFL. More interest in the playoffs this year than ever. Now they are pros only interested in the money why watch A, AA or AAA leagues when you can watch the Big Leagues. Strange but I think paying the college players has increased the popularity of the NFL. I adopted and followed three or four NFL teams this year and I never did that before. Right now pulling for the Texans and the Bills.

Agreed.
Its even worse for Bama fans because we went from having the GOAT HC that said something interesting, motivating, insightful, etc every time he took the podium to now this feckless tumbling dickweed of a HC that never says anything worth listening to. Why tune in anymore ?
Less interesting all around- I have no idea whos even on the roster right now. I could give you the 2 deep, and where they were from ever since I was a kid. Ive never been this out of touch with the program.
Nothing last forever I suppose.
The GREED and how quickly they moved once they got the door cracked should frighten people. Nothing is safe. If "they" want it they'll get it.
Look at the prices of homes in America for example... as soon as hedge funds started buying homes after the 2008 crash it was only about 10 years later that housing became unattainable for normal families.
Point being everything "American" is being sold out from under Americans.
Thomas Jefferson called it-
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies," and fearing that "corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered".

This is my point. It's normal for advertisers to want their budgets invested to the biggest audiences however it's the people who lead these networks who happily created this and are benefiting from it.
Same as the portal. That was Midwest and B1G country realizing they could kill SEC dominance by creating an ability to liquidate our rosters in an instant

Decisions being made by people who will be retired in 10 years. No one cares about the good of the sport longterm.
