Figured I would start a thread to update until he gets signed on February 4th.
Schedule as of right now
OV at Holmes CC on 1/20
Holmes in home visit 1/30
East Central Miss camp invite 1/28
I’m sure something else will pop up before signing day. I will keep this thread updated for those interested.

Forgot to mention he’s going to Holmes CC. The OC on the first 2 seasons of Last Chance U Marcus Wood is the head coach of the team.

Congrats to him. Can't wait to see him progress and hopefully make the jump to D1.
When I was getting my hair cut just before Christmas, the QB for one of the local Christian schools here in northeast Georgia was in there and the barber got him talking about recruiting (I think he is a 3 star, just finished his sophomore season, was a VT commit but decommitted after the coach was fired).
He was saying that if you are a starter at a P4 school, no matter the position, that you are getting no less than a million in NIL. Not sure if that's true or if he was just BSing a bunch of older guys. He also said that over the summer that he did a week long QB camp with Mahomes's QB coach, and that he got to work out with Jackson Arnold, Haynes King from GT, and Ty Simpson.

The coaches at Holmes said 3 times dead serious that’s he’s an SEC player. The left tackle #70 for Miami went to Holmes for 2 seasons before transferring. They were treating my son like he’s their start recruit in this class. The down side is they don’t have connections with this Auburn staff, he has connections with Hugh. My son is number one on their depth chart and LT right now. I absolutely can’t wait until the fall.

He’s committed, so there should be less pressure for an outcome of the visit.
This is probably the most time you’re ever gonna have 1:1 with the coach, so make sure you have your questions lined up. Who does he go to when he’s in trouble, how much access does he have to training and medical staff, how does the staff communicate/relay info to parents. Do you have any restrictions accessing him, etc. you might know all of that already.
In-home visits are supposed to be more informal and more comfortable because they are on your turf. Expectations are up to you, but it’s nice they’re doing it when you’re committed and it’s a great opportunity to build a relationship
As others have said, best of luck to your son and congrats. He’s in the top 1% of HS athletes and has put himself in position to be very successful. And congrats to you! Those credits add up

Smuphy or anyone with connections can hopefully get him on the new staff radar! Would be cool to get him to AU. That said, already an incredible opportunity for your son. Soak in these next few years!

So we have a 22 million dollar+ budget for starters?
Now wonder the backups jump in the portal.

Question #1
All kidding aside. Congrats to him and all of your family for getting him there. No way that is a easy task for any of you.
Signing day should be a great day for him and hopefully, he can continue to learn and advance an meet his potential.
Awesome news.
