Some schools recruit the portal harder than others. If you have a strong high school class you just use the portal to supplement your needs

Same reason Ohio State, Georgia and Texas are ranked right next to them in the portal rankings

They dont need as many portal players

Those free Chargers from Saban Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep just don't hit the same in the NIL era.

Definite truth to that. But it can’t be ignored that being married to an old paradigm that used to work could be at play.

Being slow to react has its costs.

Two starters and one rotational starter have left.

They’ve been replaced with a starter from USC with better numbers, a 5* LT from UM and a 5* HS projected starter at WR.

We’re good.

Id wonder more about A&M spending $1.4-$1.7M for a tackle who got benched and barely managed to hold onto a guard role on the worst OL Bama has had in my lifetime despite two injuries to starters down the stretch at that position.

In this fast food world college football is living in, getting curb stomped twice in primetime down the stretch will have that effect.

We're now in a different era than we were from 2021-2024 ... shite moves fast. DeBoer was a good candidate from those times. In 2026, he no longer is.
