How to save college football - Solution

If every school could simply pay each player a yearly sum of 5 million dollars, that would be great.
No matter how good or bad the player is perceived to be, no matter what position they play, even the practice squad players get 5 million a year.
With 105 players, that is only 525,000,000 a season, which is not a lot of money really. Every team should be able to do that.
Then the players won't have to live in abject and extreme poverty with not even enough food to eat or clothes they have to buy at thrift stores or find in dumpsters like many have had to do in the past.
Everything will settle back down and this crazy madness of the portal situation, etc... will be a thing of the past.
Once again, players will choose what team they want to play for because of the love of the state or team or coaches or school.
If this solution comes to fruition, I want full credit for it.

For five million a year, guaranteed, the players should be able to buy their own charger. Even one of those super expensive battery pack chargers that you can take with you anywhere to charge your phone.

Just the thought of that is embarrassing, as well as the fact that most get paid can't even carry on a coherent conversation.

Take the time to read it because it makes a lot of sense. The schools wouldn't even have to really pay the money out of their own coffers.
It could all just be NIL money earned from the name, image, and likeness of each player.

If you ask me it all starts with granting Trinidad Chambliss a 6th year of eligibility. Ask yourself this, if a good, Christian kid can't get a Medical Redshirt he deserves because of strep throat is that really a country you even want to live in any more ?

1 free transfer. 8 game penalty after that. 5 years of eligibility total no waivers.
There are ways to make this right in short order if the people in charge actually want to.
But they don’t

I don't know all the details of what you are talking about, but I agree with you in theory.
If a player had a sore throat, he should probably be allowed another year of eligibility. How can that hurt anything?

How to save college football. Make everyone have to have the same academic requirements as the lowest D1 school. If that’s a thousand sat and 2.8 gpa then make everyone qualify.

Make college football college again

What about all the other sports athletes? Just cap it to $500k per year for all athletes. Players do not have NIL if it were not for the schools letting them play. One depends on the other, and does not exist without the other. Tell the agents to take a hike.

Umm, I don't like that. I say give each one 5 million a year and make it an ironclad agreement.
If they can't survive and hold on at one school for 4 years, they just don't get to play football anywhere.

That's actually funny. I will now
ETA: now that I read it, it's kind refreshing for a different take but we are in total chaos, it will be at least a couple of years to inch in the right direction. It's very hard to legally put that genie back in the bottle.
