Out of all the bottom dwellers of the SEC with no success recently (Kentucky, USCe, Ms. State, etc), which one could be the SECs version of Indiana and really turn it around in the new era?
The obvious answer right now would be Vandy but I don’t think success is sustainable there for any extended period of time
Should be Arky imo with the Wal Mart money

Arkansas has been crap at utilizing NIL. If they get that figured out, they could be really, really dangerous.

I'm pretty sure of who it won't be.

In football. Our basketball roster is loaded with five stars. Same with baseball. Just need one of our billionaires to get into football.

The first one to realize Indiana didn’t do it with just money. Lots of teams have money and spent money and bought 5 stars from everywhere and haven’t done shite. Indiana did it by buying the right players and coaching them up.

No one wanted Pittman to burn through their money.
One reason Silverfield was hired was his understanding of NIL. He’s doing really well in the portal right now.

Don’t you already have one that owns the Cowboys?

Indiana is the flagship, Tennessee would never allow Vandy to truly overtake Tenner. The right answer is probably South Carolina, despite Kentucky fitting the Indiana mold as a basketball blue blood

You’re still thinking in the wrong terms. Indiana might be the flagship of the state if Indiana but they ain’t the flagship of the big 10. They are the historically worst team in all of d1 football. This flagship horseshite means nothing if the strategy to win is flawed. It’s not about spending the most money and buying the most 5 stars. I know some schools that are stuck in this mindset and they’ve done nothing.

Good point, I’ll change my answer
Silverfield is a bum, Arky doomed
Vandy coming

there won't be one because everyone will try to copy Cignetti's strategy, rendering it ineffective because no one team will be able to hoard all the 24 year old all-conference players like he has.

So you think he just grabbed all the oldest, all conference players and it was that simple and anyone can do it? Then put them on the field and let them go, while he rests on his laurels?

I doubt it will be us. Not unless a Walton or Tyson just gets a wild hare up their butt.
Not to mention the Waltons have turned a cold shoulder to the University after the BOT refused their choice for Chancellor. Oh they still put money in of course, certain degrees at the U of A are a great pipeline for Walmart, but I don't see one of them becoming the white knight that gallops in to save us.
