Is this the extreme end of this free agency/portal madness?

It just seems like this isnt sustainable. What happens when a QB that is paid several million dollars to be the bell cow for the program...tears his ACL in fall practice and cant play a down or just flames out?

It seems like this will force CFB to contort itself into whatever legal structure possible that will allow it to enforce rules

As long as some other team will sell their soul to buy players, you will have to as well to continue to compete.

It’s like rain on your wedding day. One option for you in the face of this new reality is to quit, like Seban.

In law school 30 years ago we called these scenarios a “race to the bottom.” The market makers are spending like drunk monkey-sailors, and you have to pay to play.

It's not sustainable. This is like a stock market bubble where shite companies formed out of shells are highly bidded up while the talking heads say this is the new normal. There are QBs making more than Bo Nix and he is QB for the number one seed in the playoffs.

Time to pay the piper.

Unfortunately the only fix now is federal legislation because each state has created its own set of laws governing NIL. Without federal laws the NCAa has no leg to enforce anything. There are supposedly three teams who refused to sign some type of agreement to the new governing NIL body that reviews these NIL deals. One of them is Texas Tech. They are going to throw whatever money they want at whoever they want and have basically said suit me.

Can the NCAA not sanction them so they are unable to compete?

If this is Texas Tech's attitude? The NCAA still gets to decide who gets to wear the "NCAA" on their helmet and play in their club.

The NCAA runs a basketball tournament. That’s about all it does these days.

College football needs a salary cap and a one time transfer rule. This crap right now is just stupid.

It’s amazing to me that I arrived at college at age 17, and began looking for an apartment to split with three other guys. Now there are 17-olds arriving at college and dropping $500,000 cash on a four bedroom/four bath with a pool.

Real estate in smaller college towns is gonna see severe inflation.

I actually have been so caught up in the recruiting aspect I didn’t even think about the rising up of the NFL ripoff custom-suit guys etc waiting to fleece these kids. it’ll definitely happen. so will massive tax issues. and eventually, 30 for 30 Rags to Riches to Rags stories of ex college millionaires ending up in drug dens and homeless.

What keeps players from transferring during a season?

How long before NFL players start asking for more money?

Someone will sue to do it and some activist judge will declare to be permissible
