1) We won the SEC.
2) We beat every team we played.
3) We were fortunate/lucky enough to beat UT.
We also were fortunate against AU. A bad team.
4) We beat all our rivals.
5) We started 2 freshman OL. We played a ton of guys.
6) We are young.
7) We still retain most of our players-more so than anyone.
8) We had a great recruiting class.
9) We will pick up a few pieces in portal.
I, like everyone wished we had a few things/plays back-damn yall ppl who want to burn it down are dumb. I spent $1500 with my boys on Sugar Bowl and 8 hours driving back today and told them I do it again. For every "bad" decision we faked a punt-helluva play-came back after being down 6 and 10. I live and breath UGA football- disappointed YES! Discouraged-NO. For a reference I am 52. You young folks are spoiled rotten.
WE ARE NOT ALABAMA UNDER SABAN. That will never happen again with free agency. EVER!

That’s the spirit baby! Every year there is only one team that is going to finish exultant. Everybody else will be disappointed to heartbroken. UGa is going to continue to be competitive and should have at least a puncher’s chance every year. As a UGa fan living two blocks from Butts-Mehre that is pure nirvana.

Good post. We had a great season. Inexperience and injuries were an issue all season long, but the coaches did an exceptional job to win 12 games and the SEC title for the 2nd year in a row. Until we manage to find a coach as brilliant as SemperFiTroll, sometimes we're just gonna have to settle for winning a dozen games and beating all our rivals.

I know most don't care about an opinion from an old coot ,been going to games in Athens and all over the south to watch the Dawgs for 7 decades. IMHO. Georgia is a Blue Blood school, hell, even fired coaches won't leave Athens, it's a unique program. The last 10 years have been special, losing a CPO game is disappointing, but with Kirby Dawgs will likely get more chances. In the new buy a team era, if you make the CPO's you had a good season.

I couldn't agree more. Imagine a bad year being beating Alabama to win the SEC championship. Beating Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Tech sending the seniors out with a 4-0 record against each. The Dawgs will be just fine.

Great post and all of this is very true, but I still have a minor pit in my stomach, because everything was set up for us to get our third national title and become a dynasty.
Dynasty is the greatest word in sports. I really wanted to buy so much shite that said DYNASTY on it that I had to rearrange my storage unit.
Still a great season and I'm grateful, but this one stings pretty good.

DawgNation had a great article this morning about how Gunner will (and has to) improve next season.
They drew comparisons to Stet from 2021 to the '22 season versus Beck regressing from '23 to '24.
Nobody can question Gunner's heart. Nobody can question his toughness. Do his fundamentals need to improve? Absolutely. Can his decision making skills improve? Definitely. Can we maximize his personal gains by improving the cast of characters around him? Again, most definitely.
Coming up short in the playoffs will either define you or refine you. I get the impression that Stockton is not one to let this shortened playoff campaign define him. You're going to have a hard time finding somebody that will work harder in the off season to correct what happened on Thursday.

To add to this, when we fell behind and started having to press the ball downfield he made the completions if he had time.

I'm generally happy anytime we win ten games a season. I will always be happy the seasons we beat Alabama to win the SEC Championship for the second year in a row.
College football is a tough neighborhood. We had a very good year. Two disappointing losses, but a very good year, and the future is still very bright.

1. UGA is one of the youngest teams in the sec.
2. First year as a starter at QB.
3. DL and OL are returning almost everyone.
4. UGA was way more banged up than Ole Miss.
5. UGA improved a though through the year Kirby had to coach this bunch up to improve them. We did lose 2 games but there were about 4 others we could have lost, so we basically went 4-2 in close games is the way I look at it.
6. Ole Miss’ 23 1/2 year old QB and kicker both played out of their minds and we still basically lost based on 1 missed kick.
This is the classic case of young guys learning how to win and how to play in big games. Teams normally have to get close before they break through.

this was a GREAT season by any metric. It sucks now that it's over which is natural, and I don't blame people for being frustrated in the immediate aftermath.
But if you said in August that we'd be quite a bit BETTER than we were last year, I most people would've called you crazy. yet we were. Going into the season I don't think anyone would have predicted us to be a national title team. Which is honestly why the loss hurts that much more...becuase slowly but surely over the course of the year we grew into not just a title contending team, but IMO, the title favorite. OSU was the only team in the field I thought could beat us (mostly just on talent alone) and they got knocked out before us. Once that happened I let myself look ahead and start thinking about how little I'd be scared of facing indiana or oregon for a national title. But such is life.
Under Sabans' historic dynasty:
-After winning it in 09 they had a 3 loss season in '10 leading people to wonder if they were losing a step. They won the next 2 titles
-They didn't win their diviesion in '13 and got whipped in the 1st round of the playoffs in '14 s people thought maybe saban's better days were behind him. They won two of the next 3 titles.
-In 2018 they got absolutely arse blasted by clemson to end the season in historic fashion. They followed that up by not winning the dviison in 2019. People again ponder if this is the end. The following year they'd produce a top ~3ish SEC team of all time.
point being...once you get to this level kirby is at, it's annoying to not win a title every year BUT, we're still going to be in the playoffs almost every year and eventually we'll get another one. We're too good of a program not to.

I know you went to South Gwinnett and the best Waffle House in the area is the one at Grayson Rd and 78 about a half mile from the school. I thought you'd appreciate it as a music fan and a native of the area I now live in.

In golf, the difference between a pure 300 yard drive right down the middle and a straight up shank…..is literally millimeters and milliseconds
Thats what this season was.
We were as close to being in the Pop Tarts Bowl as we were a bye in the playoffs with all of the clutch finishes we had.
And in the end, it caught up with us.
Live by the sword, Die by the sword. So be it

WG deleted my post about killing Mike Bobo, thus the screed above. Just so you have full context.

It happened in less than ten seconds and I was replying to you, so I figured you did it.
If Chicken did it, it would have come with another ban or at least a PM.
It must have been Lew.
