With enough talent on both sides and some better coordinators, Pinkel could have done this I think.

Cignetti has a history of winning. I love Mizzou, but Pinkel was mid-level. He's held in high regard because of the historic futility of the program. But the truth is, he won nothing. Didn't rise to the occasion when opportunity was presented and was a poor recruiter who couldn't even make inroads to the best talent in St. Louis.
The fat man at Kansas had the same success in fewer years and he isnt worshipped like Pinkel is.

Lard arse Mangino didn’t have the same success. Was a .500 coach and never won his division. Lucked into a great QB. Pinkel is currently in the Hall of Fame. Mangino won’t sniff it
However, Pinkel was not on the level of Cignetti. He is a big game coach with superior schemes and in game coaching

I think so too. Pinkel had three levels of success with Toledo, Big 12, and SEC. Cignetti has two seasons in the NIL era. Don't forget, this was not a Saban Alabama team either.

Eh. I disagree. I think the money would have helped Pinkel a ton. That’s where lots of drinks success has come from. Pinkel wasn’t Snyder, but he’s a close approximation. Very disciplined teams. Defenses that generated a lot of turnovers. If Pinkel coached the 2013 roster, I think we’d have made the playoffs. Maybe that’s cope because Eli pisses me off but whatever.

Pinkel was never that elite schematically. What pinkel did well was get players to do their job and not make mistakes.

This was Pinkel's kryptonite. He was way too loyal to coordinators that just could not get the job done.
We have screamed about Moore most of the season. If he was on Pinkel's staff, he would be here for another 4-5 seasons.

That’s somewhat of my more generic point. Dumb team mistakes and player incompetency has led to many of our Eli losses that failed to get him over the hump.

I dont disagree. Eli's teams have generally been very undisciplined (not just talking penalties) and if that could be fixed, he'd have a lot more success.

That could be applied to just about any Mizzou coach for as long as I can remember. The good ones leave and the bad ones stay. It's an issue with most mid-tier programs.
