The top half of the teams in the SEC could beat either of them. are my eyes deceiving me or are they just not that impressive? I don’t see Alabama having a lot of trouble with Indiana. Alabama has been seriously tested all season, can’t say the same for Indiana.

I’m actually getting the same feeling — Bama plus points looks like free money

If you really dive into their schedules and stats, both teams are hard to read. Their 2-3 “big games” are bracketed by 1-2 (or more) terrible teams on both schedules.

I love that Downs came out and said the biggest difference in conference play is that you only have to get up a few times a year in the B10. That speaks volumes, IMO.

Nah. OSU is still a top 3 team in the country regardless of conference

I would agree. But I would rather play Indiana and I think most fans would agree. OSU has the #1 talent composite in the country.

Of course any team would rather play Indiana. Still a team of 3 star players but with Mendoza they really believe and that’s dangerous

Indiana is Vandy 2.0. A lot of underrated upperclassmen that seem to have great chemistry. Maybe even just 1.5. Vandy would lose maybe one to Indiana’s schedule.

It’s going to be a lot closer than the media is willing to say. Has anybody seen a single person picking Alabama?

I'm back and forth. I think Bama SHOULD win.

It's like DeBoer, Grubb and Womack were given the keys to an exotic super car, and they're just hanging out in 2nd gear all day long.

Granted the full Bama games I watched were FSU, Auburn, Georgia in the SECG and Oklahoma, why would you have confidence in Bama?

Indiana has played and beaten two top 6 teams. They've also handled their business when they've played teams like FSU. Not sure what more they can do to prove themselves.

Alabama has a major flaw and that won't get fixed until next year.

I think the game will be close and Bama could win, but the whole thought the SEC's top teams are much better than the B1G's top teams is just an opinion with little evidence to back it up.

Personally, I think there are no truly elite teams, so who wins is up for grabs. Alabama, OU (can't run the football) and Ole Miss(terrible defense) are the three teams that have huge flaws from an advanced metric standpoint. The rest do everything at least average or above.

Against Oregon, tOSU, Iowa, and PSU Mendoza averaged about 215 ypg passing and threw 5 TDs versus 4 interceptions.

He piled up his gaudy stats against nobodies.

None of Mendoza’s stats were gaudy. 2,980 passing yds in 13 games for 229 yds/game. 33 passing TD’s with 6 INT’s. But he is one clutch player.

Gaudy in that he had multiple 4+TD games.

People who do this stuff for a living and aren't SEC homers and biased have Indiana as a 7 point favorite vs. an SECCG team.

Oddsmakers also knew that some betters would take Alabama just because of the name brand being such a big underdog, so if it wasn't Alabama (like how many people on this board are so confident that Alabama will win), the spread would probably be closer to Indiana -9.,

Definitely clutch, but his overall stats are misleading because he was chilling on the bench during blowouts so often. Ty Simpson threw for 500 more yards than Mendoza but had 150 more passing attempts (50 percent more than Mendoza)..

One of the things that stood out to me was the officials losing their whistles.

I saw one play where not one but two offensive linemen tackled an Ohio State DL in the backfield allowing time to get the throw off. No flag.

At one point the announcers stated they couldn’t understand how holding wasn’t called right in front of the official.
