Frankly I'm not a fan of the byes that's too much time between their last game. We also need home games at least until the semis. And the G5 teams don't need an AQ if they can crack the top whatever sure but this is a prime example of why they don't need the AQ

Even a 16 team playoff could realistically have

Utah at Indiana
Miami at Oklahoma

Texas at Texas Tech
BYU at Oregon

USC at Ohio State
Alabama at Texas A&M

Vanderbilt at Georgia
Notre Dame at Ole Miss

All these sanctioned seal-clubbings prove is that the G5 teams deserve their own bracket in their own playoff.

These farce first round games are closer to Week 1 cupcake tuneups than proper CFP matchups.

An NIT style bracket would be fun

The G5 teams love the game and bleed for their schools. Pretending that Oregon's 3rd string wouldn't be doing the same thing to JMU is proof that 2 of these schools are not remotely close to the other 10.

Just get rid of the stupid automatic G5 bid. Even if the ACC had gone normally and Miami was the champ, Tulane would still have been there to get embarrassed by Ole Miss.

I mean for frick's sake, Boise State got a bye last year.

Get rid of all AQ’s for everyone. Top 12 only.

tbh, last year's playoff was very tainted. Not for who they didn't include but for who they did include.

16 teams is fricking much...very easy to fix it...but they will not...money in more games. .Top 8...1vs 8, 2vs7, 3vs6, 4vs5. Simple bracket. Rank the teams after they qualify..

With G5 teams. Most P4 programs would skip unless they had a new coach already and were trying to build toward the next season. You could work in some NIL incentives somehow.

Bama-OU was awesome
A&M- Miami was awesome

the following two games were atrocities against our eyes.

Sportsfan says "get rid of G5 bids"

People running the show know that could draw a lawsuit. It's either let the G5 have a bid, or break away

I think this thing is headed to 16 teams anyways. 1 of 8 games that is a G5 blowout is much better than 2 of 4 games for the opening round
