Which ones have actually carved a unique path and won a title at a place that never has or hasn't in a long time? I think it's crickets

Eh, winning a title in the 80's and being a consistent program that was always capable.. idk if Georgia really counts.

In 2021,1980 was a long time, but we had MNC capable seasons in 2002,2003,2007,2012,2017, and 2018 before that.

Dabo at Clemson, Jimbo at FSU and Gene at Auburn. Before that could be Tennessee, Washington and Colorado but it was a different era.

They went four decades without a title.

Almost as long as LSU prior to Saban

All the ones I could think of were all State Level Programs, basically turned them into contenders, probably not a huge coincidence since they aren't typical destinations . Maybe these are more highly successful coaches who stayed at a non flagship school.

Peterson at Boise State

Synder at Kansas State

Gundy at Oklahoma State

Campbell at Iowa State

Patterson at TCU

Honorable mention for Elko at A&M
