Just curious. Seems like tx has a lot, but it may be the same at other places too.

Looks like Texas has a couple of backup safeties in the portal. LSU has a third-string RB, fourth CB and 8th WR in. Not sure about others. No one real significant in yet, but I'm sure that will change.

Yeah, I haven't seen much in the way of notable players moving yet.

We're losing Derek Williams and Wardell Mack to the portal. Both Louisiana natives. Watch, they'll start and be great for LSU next season. Ugh

Damn those are big losses. Williams has been hurt but with Taffee moving on to the NFL not sure why he wouldnt stay and compete, might be home sick or want some of what Lane is selling

Itll be interesting to watch playout for the playoff teams and those who have coaches who have switched.

Which is a long way of saying half the entire conference.

Bama: CFP
Ark: coaching change
Aub: coaching change
A&M: CFP
OU: CFP
LSU: coaching change
UK: coaching change
UF: coaching change
OM: coaching change

MSU: boring
USCe: boring
TN: boring
Texas: boring unless Sark leaves
Vandy: boring
Missou: boring

And Mack was in line to start at Star next season. He may be pissed that a true freshman (Littleton) took his spot this year. But if they move Littleton to CB then Mack would slide into Star.

And now hearing Texas reached out to Inside Texas (where I read all of this) and said Mack is not leaving. I guess we'll see.

My guess is after this season watching rivals go to the playoffs AND barely missing out our NIL will kick up big time for the portal and current roster.

Our boosters are not going to the outcome of this season. Also the Mack thing will likely be like a Manny M, where he tests the waters to get more $$$ from UT than actually leaving.

Well, so far there's only 4 kids that are 4* on that list and no 5*. Very few gamechangers are leaving, at least as of right now.

I imagine we could see a lot of backups from playoff teams join that list once their teams are done.

Something has changed, maybe NIL contract language. In the past couple of years there would have been 100's in the portal and at least a handful of highly rated guys. When you look at the coaching changes this year it is strange to see things so quiet.

The date changed. Last year the portal opened on December 9th. This year it's January 2nd. Nobody is actually in the portal yet, some have just declared their intent to enter the portal when it opens.

Thanks, I didn't realize that. I just looked it up and on this date last year there were over 200 four star and 3 five stars in the portal.

None of TX portal entries so far are going to move the needle for any team. Not one would start next year for the Horns.

D. Williams was terrible when he got in this year. Having to play him against Vandy in the 2nd half was one of the big reasons they scored 62 points in the last 5 minutes. He was not anywhere close to the quality of Taaffe and McDonald.
