Deboer needs to win a CFP win for the sake of the mood around the program this off-season

Every great SEC coach of the last 25 years starting kicking as in Year 2 afer having a half assed Year 1 (Saban X2, Meyer, Kirby). Oklahoma's only national title in the last 40 years was with a coach in his second year. Richt's best year at Georgia was year 2, and the Georgia coach before that Donnan had his best year in year 2.

Deboer is sort of getting a do over like Ryan Day did last year, so we'll see what happens. I think that Alabama can make a run. Right now supposedly Ty Simpson has a bad back and his confidence is shot. Went from looking like Mac Jones to a retarded Danny Wuerffel. Maybe he can get healthy and get his confidence back. The Film Guy (Brooks Austin) also said that Bernard looked off in pregame warmups and was making faces and grimacing. Overton and the two O linemen also will get a chance to heal up, or at least that would be the hope.

It will be a very very long off-season if Bama loses to Oklahoma. If Deboer wasn't already 100 percent happy at Alabama, he definitely wouldn't be then.

Much of the criticism will be deserved. Aside from Dennis Erickson at Miami, I can't ever remember another coach who was born closer to third base.

One way or the other it will be interesting.
