Hard to admit, but the SEC is no longer the big dog in college football!

I never thought I would live long enough to see it happen, but the Big 10 has now taken over college football and Indiana may be the best team in college football and may very well win the NC this year.
What the freak is going on in CFB?
Georgia appears to be the SEC's best shot at winning a NC, but they're not an elite team and Ohio State and Indiana are playing at a level never seen before from Big 10 teams.
In other words, Ohio State is now playing at a level comparable to some of the SEC dominant teams of the past and Indiana is showing it's more than just a one-night stand and plan on being at the top for a while.
The reality is the SEC is nothing more than a side show fighting to get what little crumbs are left behind.

Back when I started paying attention to college football the Big 10 was better than the SEC.
Welcome to parity. Old Money up north. They aren't weak.
This is compounded by the fact that the SEC is getting too greedy and is expanding too much. We have 4 schools that ended with 7-1 records this season. That can't stand and the SEC remain the dominant league.

They just lost to the first good team they played against a team ranked in the 70s talent wise and scored 10 points in the process.

Or maybe, just maybe, the B1G is a very top heavy league and we have no real idea how good any of their teams really are because they don't play much of anyone OOC and outside of Ohio State beating Texas they didn't win anything.
In the B1G the better teams get to rest their starters when they play some of their conference games. You can never do that shite in the SEC.

They get a LOT of teams ranked to start and then those rankings get passed around inside the conference all year.
example: Missouri
All their losses are "quality".
WHo is their best win?
8-5 Iowa?

I hear what you're saying, but the SEC was also top heavy for many years when the SEC was winning NCs with Kentucky, Vandy, South Carolina and Mississippi State guaranteed wins, and up until a couple of years ago, Florida and Tennessee were living at the bottom of the SEC for many years.
Ohio State did lose to Indiana, but I think Indiana may be the best team in the country and they may also have the best coach in the country. I know it's hard to swallow, but the Big 10 is clearly the top league and I don't there is an SEC that could beat any of those two teams.

Um, I think going 12-1 in SEC, winning the SECCG over the one team that beat you , and having wins over #6 Ole Miss, #9 Bama, #13 Yexas, and #22 Ga Tech, seems pretty ELITE, idiot! Georgia should have been the 2 seed over the OSU, and it really shouldn't have been close.

Mizzou is in the SEC, and wasn't ranked in the preseason polls! They did beat Iowa in the Music City Bowl in 2024, though!

Ohio St scored 14 & 10 against the best defenses they've seen. What a fricking ridiculous post.

Ohio State has always been good. They almost never win less than 10. Probably the most consistent program in CFB.
Last time they won less than 10 games (if you omit the COVID year) was 2011. Before that it was 2004.
Luke Fickell coached one season in 2011 (not sure what the story was there) and had a losing year. Before that, the last time they had a losing season was 1988 which was John Cooper's first year.

SEC is by far the best conference. Big10 has 3 CFP worthy teams. SEC has
seven.
seven.

We will know more after this year. B1G apparently has 3 of the Top 5 teams. Ok, we will have to see about that. They did manage to set up the draw to where the SEC has to eat its own quite a bit instead of playing them which is disappointing. The B1G was getting the benefit of the doubt all year in the rankings and they have some horrific teams. They went 7-5 in OOC games including 1-2 against the SEC with the OSU win over Texas being the only notable win.
We will see what happens over the next month.

I think we'll have a better picture of it once these playoffs start. I mean, the defenses in the SEC may not be Alabama dynasty level but they're still damn good and both OSU and Indiana struggled to score points against good defenses when they played each other. I think OU, Alabama and UGA have good enough defenses that they're not just going to run roughshod over them.

The difference is the Big is fresh coming into the playoff, while the SEC is beat to hell. Caleb Downs recently made it clear the difference between playing a Big schedule and an SEC schedule. The SEC is clearly still the best, most dominant conference. However, we beat the hell out of each other week in and week out. The Big Ten plays scrubs other than three games a year at most. The difference is drastic. Winning the SEC is still the most difficult thing to do in college sports.

The Big 10 is about to be exposed.....
No comparison top to bottom either. Rank each conferences's team and have them play each other...SEC wins bigly...

Here's the question, OP ...
Would OSU or Indiana be in the positions they're in, this season, if they had played SEC conference schedules?
I'll wait for your answer.

Georgia is practically in the final four already. Those first round byes can be killers though.

over time this might turn out to be true with the money involved up north.
