Should be top 12 teams in regardless of conference champ games.

If were being honest there shouldn't be a 12 team playoff.

JMU and Tulane are both ranked in the 20s getting spots over teams like Miami, Vandy, Texas, etc.

Absolutely. They should just use the BCS formula and put in the top 12

Miami might be in over Bama. And if you feel there shouldn't be a 12 team Playoff, that shouldn't bother you.

Notre Dame, Miami, Texas and Alabama should be the 9-12 teams....all of them would be double digit favorites over Tulane JMU.

Neither Miami or Bama deserve a spot in a playoff.

You have 5 teams deserving a spot imo.

Indiana, Ohio State, UGA, Tech, and Ole Miss.

Rest of the teams are suspect

If you have to politic this hard on a message board to justify your team being in the playoffs then your team didn’t deserve to be in in the first place.

Exactly. Conference affiliation should have nothing to do with it and if it does then you need to force ND to join a conference. It should be the top 12 get I to the playoffs. The fact we have #20 and #25 just because they are part of some arbitrary group of teams is just stupid. It should be the #1 thru #12 team and that’s it

Yall clearly aren't reading.

Bama doesnt deserve a spot. Neither does Miami.

How the frick do teams with two losses get a chance to be the champion of college football.

Indiana has 0 losses, just beat the defending champs, but could be eliminated if they play 1 bad game to a 3 loss team.

Think about that.

None of them really have a pot to piss in. Texas shouldn't have lost 3 games. Miami shouldn't have lost to 2 basketball schools. Bama shouldn't have lost to the 13th place team in the ACC to start the season and then take belt to arse to end of the season.

Ole Miss only loss is UGA so yes.

Texas Tech played 1 bad game and dog raped the rest of their schedule.

ND. Lost to a highly overrated A&M team and Miami who coukdnt even make the ACC title game

If you don’t put in conference champions than there is no point to conference championships.. if that’s the case the field just expands again .. which is fine ..in that case Tulane is still in and probably James Madison …. but teams in all sports get in the playoffs who don’t belong … college basketball for sure .. college baseball for sure .. the nfl yes ( you can have a losing record win your division and your in ….

Ohio St - barely beat a struggling Texas team 14-7. Played an incredibly weak schedule until the post season, loses to Indiana 13-10.

Tech - played a weak schedule, only notable win is an over-ranked BYU they beat twice. Lost to Arizona St.

Ole Miss - Played only 2 ranked teams all year. Went 1-1 against them, and the loss was to Georgia.

So really, we should just have a NCG with Indiana vs Georgia.

Does anyone say the basketball tournament should be just the 68 best?
Obviously a 16 could never beat a 1
