Texas and Oklahoma, any regrets?

Arizona State won the Big 12 last year, Texas Tech this year. In 2 years in the SEC, you guys have one championship appearance combined and 0 conference titles. Do you think life would be easier if you had stayed in the Big 12? Are the benefits of the SEC worth not being the kings any longer?

I think they are better prepared for a playoff run. Oklahoma knows for a fact their defense is tested and can shut down even an Ohio State. Or slow down for the trolls that keep spinning everything as disrespect. They had the best defense in the conference.

It would be easier.
But they don't want easier.
They want more money and to whine and complain.

The full reality of the SEC Gauntlet was realized precisely by Texas this year when they lost to FL. It’s what we’ve talked about for years and all the other conferences call BS - that the weekly grind of the SEC is just exceptionally difficult. Top to bottom. yes there are some shitty teams but even the shitty teams can beat you if your guard is down. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch!

Stop acting like Texas wasn’t ever good in the big 12. OU ran that conference and Texas lost to ISU, KU, KSU every other year. Beyond that SEC is harder and we make it harder too. Dumb argument is dumb

Eat your heart out 7-5, how does 13-3 sound ? You guys lost almost twice the SEC games in one year we did in two.

It was Texas’ first conference game of the season.

I heard an anecdote about an A&M booster pushing the AD for them to join the SEC back their South Western conference days. The AD supposedly responded, "Are you crazy? It's hard enough for us to beat Texas in this conference. Over there, they've got five Texas teams!"
Lord only knows the veracity of that.
But I think that sums up my response. The SEC is tough, always kind of has been. OU and UT only make it tougher. Don't know if there will ever be a 'king' in this conference now ever again.
No regrets. It was a natural economic response by both sides.

Every year, someone new gets hot. Don’t be surprised if South Carolina gets good with Briles as OC. Or Tennessee gets back on track.

Not one regret every game is a blast now and weekends are fun. We are in the right conference.

Yes...wish UT leadership was clearer when we were told to schedule OSU in 2025. Assumed it was Ohio State...wish we would have scheduled Oregon State instead. -Signed, Head Football Scheduler

I think OU had 3 losing seasons their first 3 years in the Big 12. Then went on to have double the titles of everyone else. You see the same trend happening here. BV is building his team through the trenches. Defense iss there. Starting 3 freshman on the oline this year and 2 fives just signed. OU is coming.

Every OU fan I know around here is so happy to be done with the Iowa States and Kansases of the world and to play Georgia or Alabama or Tennessee or LSU every year.

Not speaking for Mobilehoma, but no regrets here.
I'd seriously rather sit out the playoffs and go to a shite tier bowl than be stuck in the Big 12 visiting Midwest wasteland cities every other year.
To be fair they now have Boulder Colorado, Provo Utah and Tempe Arizona which are better road trips than anything SEC, but still not enough to make me want to go back.

Meh, 'Bama was our bitch when we were in the Big !2. 'Bama is still our bitch after joining the SEC.
Personally, I like being in the SEC.. a lot more camaraderie.

No regrets beating Bama last two years …. But hey keep moving those goalposts lol…. First we wouldn’t win in the sec….. now we can’t win the sec lol. If Mateer hadn’t injured his hand it would be UGA OU in the sec championship this year .
