Jumping them over ND gives them the “can’t penalize a team for losing CCG”
Congrats Bama.
Congrats Bama.

I agree, but I think a bad loss could still knock them out.

What seed does UGA get if they lose to Bama on Saturday? They’d have to be ahead of Indiana if they lose

It should’ve been common knowledge after last year.
Now if Bama gets blown out, they might pivot.

Why?
They'd have two losses and Indiana would have one.

That's not what I got out of it.
"Teams that are idle can move up or down" is what the CFP committee guy in the suit said.

Georgia and Tech should lose on purpose. Keep those Irish out lol

It would. It’s typical for them to say, if x happens, it doesn’t matter. Reality is if you get blown out, you out.
Example: 2011. Many folks said if lsu loses, they still deserve the championship. Bama blows them out. No one said that again.

Well Bama is the sec regulate season champ. How could you keep the one seed in sec out of playoffs especially with all of the ranked wins and one of the toughest stretches midseason of every conference. I’m not thing bama is going to win a NC but based on body of work and SoS I think they have certainly earned their spot.

SOS and all that. Guess it won’t matter. If Georgia loses they should have to travel to Bama for the first round lol

Hard to see Georgia dropping below Oregon, unless they play like shite, but who really knows anhthing about what the committee will do at this point.
My prediction would be sixth, with Bama and Oregon at 4 and 5 in some combination.

So are Ole Miss and Georgia.
Regular season champ seems like a banner that Ole Miss would hang and unbecoming of a Bama fan.

Probably 5 unless IU gets boat raced in which case they could drop hard.
OSU
IU
Tech
Bama
UGA
Of course Tech could lose the rematch to BYU and drop way back which could leave us with something like:
OSU
Bama
IU
UGA

I didn’t say there would be banner but finishing first in the regular season in the toughest conference should count for something correct?

This gives them the debate of ND vs Miami all over again.
Committee is clear that you can’t be punished for losing a CCG, but you could be jumped by another that did well.
By moving Bama over ND, that makes it so BYU can’t knock out Bama if they win…so ND is out with BYU win

Does beating Georgia twice knock them out? How many times should you have beat the same team for this to be out of the playoff.

Would be epic setup to be 5, hosting James Madison for a warmup game to the real playoff part.
