If I’m Kiffin, I don’t want to coach in the playoff.

Plenty of us have been there before. You take a job that you know will eventually lead to a better opportunity if you crush it. You crush it. Then you move on to the job that you’ve always wanted.

Ole Miss has a good team, but they’re not going to win a natty. If I’m Lane, I’m getting the family situated in Baton Rouge, I’m getting my coaching staff set, then I’m hitting the recruiting trail hard.

I would have two goals next year:1. Make the playoff at LSU. 2. Absolutely humiliate Ole Miss in Oxford. With the portal and NIL, both are possible.

After all the love and support Ole Miss gave to Lane it's really petty to hold any grudge against the school.

We have been nothing but kind and supportive even as he shite the bed with the team last year.

Oh well, on to the next one.

Good luck againt Bama. Im pulling for UGA Saturday.

Come on man, if he rattled off two 5-7 seasons you would’ve kicked his arse to the curb. This is a highly competitive business.

Maybe.

And would we be wrong for firing a coach with a top 10 NIL who had back to back losing seasons?

Some of yall are just ridiculous.

And that would be deserved. You serious? LSU fired Coach O 2 years removed from a national title. It was the correct decision.

And would Kiffin be wrong to want to coach for a program that has won 3 Nattys this century?

Of course Kiffin is going to want to beat Ole Miss next season. And you are going to want to beat him.

And paid him well for it. No, you can’t
have it both ways. Cut the cord and move on.

I dont think he's wrong for wanting an easier path to recruit.

He is wrong for sabotaging his team on the way out.

Kiffin will have more opportunities to play in the playoff at LSU. I doubt Ole Miss will have more opportunities to be in the playoff. Lane needs to move on to his next job.

OP,

Good post, you are on point.

OM is not going to win the NC, he needs to get on fully to his new position.

I also think that coaching a playoff game before a pissed off home crowd could be a real bad experience for him.

How exactly is he sabotaging Ole Miss? Just by leaving before the season is over? That is a regular thing in college football now.

That’s everything on the matter.

If Kiffin hadn't caused this shitshow, I haven't seen anything to indicate this. Ohio St and Indiana have barely played anyone and Georgia has as many flaws as OM. If Kiffin's goal was to win a title, he just shite all over one of the best opportunities he ever has or will have. He will regret this.

Ole Miss has played two hard games this season: UGA and Oklahoma. Their defense is not good. Ohio State is incredibly more talented than Ole Miss. So is UGA and Bama for that matter. Oregon would be favored against them also. There is no way that they would win a natty.
