If you watched Drinkwitz press conference after the Arkansas win.. two things stood out Gary Pinkel reached out to Eli which is a good sign.. the man was elite with special teams and quarterback play and number two Mr Trulaske reached out to Drink with I guess and I'm assuming here that he says if you need more cash we'll get it.. those two things make 2026 look very bright however of their nine SEC games next year five are against winning teams which if history serves me right Drinks record is not good

What stood out to me were his comments at the end.
He talked about the job interest in him (without stating his interest in them), when he decided to sign the extension, how he saw things on social media (as if there were a doubt), and his not having completed his work here in Missouri (seeing the North End Zone project finished). His last comment really irritated me. The work to be completed is on the field, Ws and Ls, not a ribbon cutting at a stadium renovation.
I really want to believe the best in people and hoped Drink was sincere in using the interest in him as the impetus to take NIL to the upper limit. And maybe he is and my read is wrong. Instead I got the vibe of a man who had the rug pulled from under him at Penn State with the loss to Oklahoma.
I've time-stamped this to the final question. What are your impressions?

All you have to do is go watch the App State interview right before he left.
Eli is staying here because his stock went back town, and Mizzou still paid him.

Replacing 3 possibly 4 olinmen if Green gets a 2nd round or higher grade
Still questions at QB
Replacing 10 players on the defensive two deep.
Next season will require an elite coaching job to get to 8 wins.

We will see what he has made of in 2026.
Still pissed about Pribula. Hoping Pinkel gave him some good advice on OC and QB.

Has Kirby been told yet that he's unemployed in 2026?
I'm all for a Chip Kelly or Petrino Comeback story at Mizzou ... won't happen but if Drink has the coin now, go make a splash.

What Drink did is confirm everything I've been telling you guys for weeks.
He said after OU, he made the call to "lets get it done."
I said there was an extension on the table weeks ago with a modest raise but a real bump in the OC line item. Why didn't he sign weeks ago and why after the OU loss? Answer, the OU loss turned PSU away even when he tried to curry favor by stating Pribula.
Notice he said "I never interviewed for PSU." True, but your agent was working with them. All you had to do was shut it down and sign the extension.
He admitted to reading social media. And all of a sudden he's praising the renovation, and no mention of fortune 500 donations. He got the message on that one.
Drink needs Mizzou, Mizzou needs Drink. Quit fricking about, and find an OC and a couple of mid/high QBs. Write off the Pribula NIL contract and process him out, then shut up and be the CEO.

Well said.

Pribula gave him the only chance to win the game. Which was a .3% chance.

Laird might have shared data with him from other schools. Drink was parroting the sales pitch from Penn State to us through the media. Which is remarkably unsophisticated, honestly.

Eli smoking a cigar somewhere in SW Como looking at how Lane's departure blew up in his face. Sometimes the loser is lucky.
