SEC should stop its members poaching coaches and players of SEC teams.
For lateral move within SEC, a coach have to sit out or work outside SEC for one year. From position coach to coordinator and from CO to hc are not lateral move.

There used to be a gentleman's agreement to that effect in the SWC and later in the Big 12. After we left for the SEC, Texas seems to have abandoned it. And such a rule hasn't existed in the SEC as long as we've been a member.

I think formal non-poaching agreements would be struck down in court as monopolistic/anti-competitive. And we know that SEC teams don't honor gentlemen's agreements. So this is a non starter, sorry.

If the coaches wouldn't have such wild arse buyouts our AD's were willing to pay

Right to work would prevent it in most states.

They should make the buyout clause to poach a coach equivalent to the guaranteed contract to fire one if they wanted to consolidate and be serious.

To stabilize the SEC, we should kick Aggy, Horn, Boomer, and Miz the frick out.

I don’t see Heupel going back to OU. He is doing well a Tennessee.

There was also some bad blood when he was let go as OC. (His biggest issue was bad QB play the last couple of years.)

Then again I think there may have been some bad blood between Venables and Stoops as V was essentially getting demoted to co-defensive coordinator. But that was likely an order of magnitude less.

But you never know.

I could sworn reading that Slive at least frowned upon SEC schools hiring another SEC school's coach. But I could also be imagining things.

I hear this so often on here that it seems like it's a new SEC version of "Hell no, I won't ever forget".

Damned carpetbaggers!!!
