If he actually goes through with leaving, the national media is going to DRAG him

Everyone is slamming him for considering leaving. Except Nick Saban, who was allegedly, according to the CC board
, paid $1,000,000 to consult for LSU on the hire.

"Lane Kiffin is all about Lane Kiffin, in that way a child can be — someone who hasn’t figured out, yet, that the world doesn’t revolve around them."

But you know, bad as I hate to admit it, it kind of is revolving around him with the way We, LSU and Florida are all wooing him to the max. It's pretty much completely all about him.

I'm sure Nick gets an additional kickback if the guy he recommends gets hired. Just throwing that out there.

I get your point, but that’s wholly due to his actions. Other coaches don’t do this shite.

That was brutal. If he leaves yall then he just proves what a self-centered conman is really is.

I have a feeling that we have an offer on the table and it is saitting but we haven't tried to sweeten the deal any. It's a take it or leave it kind of thing. Not sure on this but that's what the frick I would do at this point. And it's mostly symbolic.

What’re the chances Carter is fed up and already has his man (Sumrall) and is now just hoping Kiffin accepts one of the other offers? Greater than zero, right?

I'm sure it's been that way for a while.

I think Keith is smart enough to realize that we know what we have with Kiffin. It's proven we can win here. Bringing someone else in to succeed is all in theory. Sports has a long history of a supposedly great coach coming in and failing to live up to expectations.
There is evidence that someone like Sumrall could come here and have success....but there are no guarantees..
As much as he has pissed us all off, it is in our best interest to try and keep him.

Yeah I hope he stays. I don't think he is but I hope he does.

Kinda weird that Lane has gone all quiet on social media.

KC is likely a man of his word, and I expect if Sumrall is our guy, then the Lane deadline of next Saturday was communicated to him prior to KC’s statement and he understands. Does that mean Sumrall will wait until then to take a head coach job? No. But the fact that he’s been approached and hasn’t, particularly by Auburn, likely speaks volumes.

The top comment was “shut the frick up” so I think he got the message that maybe social media isn’t the best thing to be on right now

I have no doubt that someone, be it KC, Glenn Boyce, or Sexton himself, told him to stop the antics on social media. At least he has had some time to reflect on how much of an arse he's been.

He’s losing the PR battle

I don’t really know if it is unless there’s a substantial buyout clause added for our trouble. This has been bull shite.
The contract tells the story. We knew Lane didn’t want to stay here long term, so they negotiated a fairly low buyout if he leaves elsewhere to make it easy for him. We were fine with this arrangement for some reason, likely because we never imagined that a coach would potentially bail in a playoff season and if he did leave, it’d be another 8 win season like we had just experienced.
We’ve now won 10 games 4 out of 5 years. He needs to pay for hurting the stability of the program should he stay.
