Here is the update today. I chose us winning last two games and losing SECCG.

Here’s the simulation if bama wins out and misses SEC championship game

Perhaps someone high up in the SEC needs to have a private chat with the Arkansas affiliated playoff chairman and remind him that we live in interesting realignment times

If Bama wins out they're in. If that involves going 10-2 or 11-2 shouldn't matter. If Bama loses to TAMU in the SECCG that cannot put them out. You can't punish a team for making their conference championship game. There are too many spots. You could do that with 2 or 4 spots, but not with 12. You can't reward a team that stays home that weekend.

If an SEC team goes from in the field to out of the field due to an SECCG loss, you will know you've just watched the last or one of the last SECCGs in history.

I truly believe the reason Alabama got sacrificed last year was because "punishing" SMU for playing in the ACCCG would have led to the ACC ending their CCG and others following suit.

If both SECCG participants are in the field according to the 2nd to last CFP committee release, the CFP committee is playing with fire to punt one of them out of the bracket. Disney wants those CCGs. They own the vast majority of them.

Yep forgot that one as well. I think as long as we handle our last two games we are golden. Winning the SEC is a great thing and absolutely secures us but it’s not a necessity in my opinion.

Committee can do whatever they want. They used that excuse last year to keep us out and they also said they look at wins. This year they are looking at losses instead.

In the end we win we are in. If we do not win who knows how far we would advance anyway.

Or we can look back and say once again we let Oklahoma screw us out of the playoffs. I’m tired of everyone getting multiple weeks to prepare for Bama. The SEC can start with looking at scheduling first

To be fair, you did say same thing last year and we got left out.

No I didn’t. My one caveat was if SMU lost a close game to Clemson that is what screwed us.

They have already stated championship games are just another data point this year

BYU beating Texas tech feels a lot like smu last year. Texas tech will be above us and also playing in a championship game. Unlikely we would be chosen over them if we also lose the sec title

BYU will have to improve dramatically to beat TTU. But it wouldn’t shock me to see someone throw a game like Louisville did against FSU two years ago so that Bama gets excluded.

Have no faith that anyone in sec leadership or even our own ad will push the envelope.

Byrne hasn't even fixed the bye week issue.

Texas Tech is just so much better than BYU like it’s been said they would have to improve drastically. I’m not saying there isn’t a chance but Texas Tech really beat the shite out of them the other day and I think may even do worse to them on the second go round.

Still a couple weeks left of football so I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody loses a game they’re not supposed to.

I agree tech is objectively much better. But one game with a Chance to guarantee both teams in. Wouldn’t surprise me if tech decided to have an off game

Last year’s ACC championship game and 2023 were blatantly rigged. I said what I said and would love to see someone prove me wrong.

The only way we can really get screwed is if we miss the SECCG by some mystery tie breaker BS (collapse by Vandy, Mizzou, UT at the same time) and BYU still has 1 loss and beats TTU in a rematch, but even then, we probably stay in at 11.

That’s assuming we don’t get stupid at Jordan Hare.
