Right now, we're hoping for 10-2 and a spot in a 12 team playoff. We're hoping we'll do good enough to get included. I realize that's the best we can hope for this season. None of that will change this year.

We're going to suffer for the time being I think until we can accept that this air raid kind of offense is not cutting it and it's simply not Alabama and by extension -- not championship winning football. Air raid is ultimately shitty football. Who has ever won NC's with this kind of offense?

Honestly, what kind of elite running backs and o-linemen will want to come here if we keep this philosophy?

We'll have to eventually get back to running and controlling the clock. And defense has got to get back to dominating. I think we all know that's a given. You have to have both.

As far as our demeanor and approaching leadership (admin and coaching) we should not be shy in expecting winning football. As a fan-base, I think we know it better than a lot of them out there.

Not saying anyone should be fired. They've done their best and are capable. We have good coaches but they do need to be reminded of what we expect.

We should never apologize for expecting NC's at Alabama. That's a tradition that should always continue.

Honestly, the defense has played pretty well this year. Not perfect but pretty good. If I was giving the defense an A to F grade, I’d give them a solid B.

It won’t be fixed this year but we have absolutely got to get back to being way more physical on offense. It’s gonna be really, really interesting the competition for those starting o line spots next Spring and August.

I’m hoping CKD sends Chris Kapilovic packing and brings in a much better technician and better motivator as a O line coach. If CKD doesn’t plan on doing that, I hope Greg Byrne insists he do it.

IMO, getting an upgrade there is CRITICAL.

All I wanted this season was a playoff berth. That would give me encouragement that DeBoer was making progress. Next season I expect at least a semi finals appearance. If that's too much to as then so be it. As far as recruits go I mean, Alabama is sitting at like the #3 class if form holds. I admittedly get a bit negative in game threads but I honestly want to see this offense with DeBoer's type of linemen.

Go watch Crowell's game film and get back to me.

It never looks right, lots of vacant field. But they are performing.

ETA: Think LT Overton is gonna rake cash in NFL draft

Do you expect to possess the ball for 40 minutes a game?

ETA: Does the extra minute that UGA possesses the ball make you jealous?

Defense has definitely improved over the season. As a whole though it feels like garbage. Barely beating .500 teams on the road and giving up 3 turnovers to a team we should have beat by 2 scores feels meh.

That’s nice but it doesn’t mean much when you lose a game where you double them in yards gained.

Hey now dude, we can talk about special teams all you want. That’s not where you started in your OP.

I wouldn't call this an air raid scheme. We're about 60/40 pass to run. We just can't run the ball well.

Expecting a floor of a semifinal is a wild take

The whole team, including the defense, has made a hell of a turnaround since last year and FSU this year.

There are weak spots on the team, but they can beat anyone.

Issue is they can also lose to anyone. A lot rides on the QB play.

Also, Hill should get 90% of the snaps at RB

Hill has been the most productive, but I don't think he can stand up to that type of workload. He's been injury prone even with the limited amount of snaps he's gotten in his career so far.

My feelings as well.

I think we'd be fine running the ball more and grinding clock. But right now we just find ourselves behind the chains too often.

It's not. Not even close. It's not even about the run/pass ratio. Air raid offenses substitute quick underneath passes and WR screens for a traditional run game. We do very little of that. We're more of an Air Coryell type offense that lacks the ability to run the ball, which is a huge problem since the passing game in those systems is almost entirely vertical.

AK Dear is a really good RB. You can't tell a lot from what little he's played this year but he's flashed greatness in those times. I'm hoping with reps, reps, and more reps in the Spring and the additional one on one coaching he'll get with bowl season that he'll get all the little things you have to do to be great.

Crowell has put up gaudy numbers this year in HS. And Burnett is a bit of a dark horse.

Any of those three next year could see a lot of playing time, maybe even start. IMO, it all depends on which one(s) pick up pass protection.
