Is desmond just blowing smoke or is there a real chance Sark is gone after this season? It's kind of an odd thing for him to bring up. I refuse to get my hopes up but is there really smoke here?

There was a report posted here a couple weeks ago that his agent was putting out feelers about his interest in going back to the NFL. No idea if that was true.

Sark realized he'll be forced to start Manning again next year. Time to jump ship while he still has some perceived value.

it would explain the lack of discipline on this team if Sark has already mentally checked out.

I refuse to get my hopes up, however. I'll believe it when I see it.

If Sark does leave then you can bet Manning will as well....he may do that anyway. He's not getting the coaching he needs here.

Manning will go on to be a very good QB somewhere else.

Well after you owned me on the texas baseball coach hire I'll sure never doubt you again.
Can you elaborate any?

He will. The jealous, irrational hatred of Manning by fans is misguided. Sark failed him. That will be proven when he leaves and has a pretty good career somewhere else.

Manning was actually good enough Sat night. The breakdowns were mostly elsewhere.

I said the same thing all last year. Both of those guys deserved better than what they got from their coach and the fans.

This may sound ridiculous, but the NFL gig seems like an easier job right now. There you have contracts and a cap. You got a GM to manage all that crap.

In the college game guys can leave at anytime. You may have to rebuild your roster annually. Boosters have always been pain; now they can legally "own" players. If tu's collective didn't have millions invested in Arch is he still the starter? Maybe he is, but it's just another layer that muddies the water of coaching a college team.

With a buyout of $55 million, I don't see it happening. However, there is a mitigation clause, so negotiation is possible if he does still want to coach.

Sark seems like a guy that would prefer the NFL and not dealing with all that CFB especially in Austin entails.

100% NFL is harder from a scheming standpoint. But, everything else is better. Also, getting fired in the NFL doesn't mean you are done as a coach in the nfl.

$55MM is not a problem, just like $76MM was a problem for A&M.

Yes there is a real chance. I'm a donor, but I don't have a building named after me.

But if you follow the smoke, you'll get to the fire. My hunch is there's something in the works where Sark moves on and Texas is left with no buy-out.

Now... if all this were true, you can bet Texas already knows who's coming here.

I would bet he's taking an OC job in the NFL. That's what the man is.

Sark will not be our coach in 2026.
