Who hires Mike Bobo

One of the fam bases on these threads is going to make a fool of themselves when their program announces Mike Bobo is their new head coach and he proves to be pretty damn good. I know that idea is going to be lambasted but Bobo is quietly making UGA about as efficient an offense as they get….

Probably not because ADs are looking for Nick Saban and money means nothing but someone is missing out on a potentially good head coach that would lend some stability in a tumultuous period where inconsistency is a bad idea

Mike is not going to be a HC again
He's going to retire at UGA. He has it made. OC at his alma mater, NC contender, and working for his best friend

He went 28-38 at Colorado State. Never better than 7-6 and 4-8 and 3-9 before being fired. Stop this awful troll job.

This is true. Also had some serious health issues and it’s Colorado State….7-6 is about as good as it gets. I get it, there is the stench of shite on Bobo but he has proven to be a capable OC. I hope ADs are as blind as they seem to be….

People still don’t get the best part about Bobo as OC. Him and Kirby and best friends, he’s UGA through and through AND he’s already been down the HC trail. I think he’s fine making bank as UGA OC with his friend and will be there as long as we pay him. This gives us a level of consistency you don’t see in CFB very often today.

Bobo is a solid but not spectacular coordinator.
But he's been a head coach before. At CSU he was 28-35... 20-20 in conference play. Losing OOC is kind of expected at lower level FBS schools, but to be a target for a HC hire you have to do something better than that in conference.

Didin't he already try and fail at that or am I thinking of someone else. Besides, all I hear from Ga fans is bitching about Mike Bobo.

Bobo is good as a OC.
But he's not creative. He doesn't out scheme opposing DC's... he runs fairly standard and predictable plays and lets his talent win out.
Where that falls short is when the opposition is equally talented.
UGA fans get upset by Bobo because we can often tell what play's coming and based on that assume the opposing DC can as well. The thing is it's not a bad play call the majority of the time. And if the offense blocks well and runs the routes as they should... it works a decent amount of the time. But we got spoiled by Monken who was a master at calling plays the defense seemed unprepared for.

In fiarness...since he was fired they have gone:
2020:1-3
2021: 3-9
2022: 3-9
2023: 5-7
2024: 8-5
2025: 2-8 so far.
It's not like they have flourished since he was fired.
