because of teams like Texas tech, BYU . When you look at those schedules then compare to what a SEC team has to play. SEC should have at least 5 guaranteed spots in playoff. The value of what the SEC brings weekly to College cannot be matched and the SEC should be rewarded. Not teams that play 1 or 2 top 25 teams a year.

This is an accurate assessment.

Agreed. We lose to State in two weeks and we're fogging up the windows from outside.

Sec barely earned 3 teams last year, they'll only get 4 this year. The fact that the top teams struggle with MSU, Florida, SCAR, Arkansas, doesn't make it a great conference. Vandy is going to go 10-2 without a ranked win and will
Miss the playoffs because they play a weak schedule.

So

Tech should be in the playoff.

5 SEC schools making the playoff now with OU winning. Which is great. Bama better beat Auburn though to ensure they get 5.

Notre Dame

1 Big 12
1 ACC
1 G5

3 Big 10

Let’s just shoot straight here — no Group of Five team should be in this year.

If Memphis, JMU, Duke, South Florida, North Texas or Tulane makes it in over a bubble SEC team, we’re just openly handing out participation trophies now.

Who says the first team out will be SEC? Big 10 might have 4 teams that are worthy.

5 is plenty for the SEC.

Possibly. But SEC or B1G, the point still stands.

“Should” but that’s not it works. Top 5 conference champions get in automatically. So as of now, that’s Miami and Navy getting in instead of BYU or Utah

So as of now, it’s:

5 SEC teams (Tamu, UGA, Bama, OM, OK)
ND
Miami
Texas Tech
Navy
3 Big 10 (OSU, Ind, Oregon)

ETA: and the ACC will lose their shite that an SEC team with 2 losses, including a loss to one of the worst teams in the ACC, is making it

Vandy should have beat Texas. If they were 11-1 they could get in but they did not. It sucks they will go 10-2 and be left out.

Vandy will be cheering for Mizzou this weekend big time!

What if a two loss SEC team loses in the SEC title game and gives them 3 losses.

Do they still get in?

The playoffs are going to be nuts this year. Every team besides the G5 can win.

Miami? this is what im talking about. Would probably be with LSU right now if in SEC but makes playoff. Dont be surprised if Mich or USC make it from big 10 . This will probably also eliminate another SEC team on the bubble.

It depends on two things.

How far does Bama drop in the rankings?

And what takes place in the Big 10.

If Michigan beats Ohio State, they will take a spot from a SEC team. And since OU beat Michigan, that could knock Bama out.

They have to get 5.

I think the only reason they get 4, is if Bama loses to the Aggies in the SECCG, and it’s Ole Miss, Georgia, OU, Aggies on the playoff.

Bama stays at home even though they finished top 2 in the conference

Ask Florida about the mighty group of 5. lol what a shitty program, they’re lucky it was only a 10 point game for their own Super Bowl

What the hell are you talking about. Your team is making the playoff and you are still melting.

This 9 game conference season is going to be the death of the SEC. This committee only cares about record. If anything we should be play 7conf games until they get their shite together.

You're looking at the wrong teams....Michigan and USC are still marching up the rankings with huge games that could leap frog them into the top 10

I have a feeling Miami will start getting a push as well
