Is Ryan Willams the most overrated Bama player in recent memory?

I say yes. Dude is on the cover of the College Football video game this year and has been a net negative for our team when you think about how much NIL we spend on him that could be spent elsewhere.

Kid is arrogant as hell.

Let’s not forget how he and Mbakwe (who has barely done crap this year) announced Jaylen leaving the transfer portal after fleecing us for more NIL money. They played Fortnite in BDS and the team actually released a hype video about it.

Frickers have a podcast called “New Wave”, acting like they’ve already made it. This program has catered way too much to ego lately.

He’s an underachiever with regards to his performance. He has absolutely insane body control but he still doesn’t know how to properly catch. And honestly isn’t that good of a route runner either.

I know he’s still young but he’s a very raw WR. All natural talent without much in the way of good fundamentals

Maybe I just haven’t seen it, but what has he done that makes him seem arrogant as hell?

RW definitely deserves his fair share of criticism this year, but if anything he seems to be lacking confidence

He chipped a fingernail and his favorite teddy-bear is leaking its stuffing. His emotions just can't take it

I honestly feel like he’s a good kid and tries hard. But yeah the production is just so bad right now. It’s a shame

Yeah not sure why so many people assume he's some arrogant prick who doesn't give a frick. There's nothing he's ever said or done to suggest that.
If anything, he's lacking confidence right now.

By all accounts he's a hard worker who cares a lot, and is just having a terrible sophomore season after building so much hype as a Freshman.
I hope he figures it out.

Yeah im not down on Williams as a person, but hes just been another dude out there this season. He's been less impactful than Josh Cuevas as a pass catcher. He's made some plays that remind you that hes still a really good talent, but he's also dropped a good many passes, and then the turnover yesterday. Hopefully he turns it on going forward.

Trending up after a rough start to the season.

Then the fumble yesterday.

Hope he keeps improving and bulking up a bit wouldn’t hurt

I wouldn't say overrated. I do know he's been dinged up a fair amount of this season. If he's hurt so bad that he can't go at least 90 per cent, he needs to sit those games out. We need guys who can do whatever is necessary to win out there.

There are times his blocking has been half hearted at best. That is 100 per cent unacceptable.

Honestly, I think almost all of his issues (ball security, blocking, route running, form in catching the ball and effort) are all correctable. I know it won't happen but in a perfect world, I'd like to see Devonte Smith come in for a day and work with him and give him pointers on how to improve on the stuff mentioned above.

Williams could be absolutely outstanding if he's willing to do the little things, work incredibly hard and give 100 per cent effort on every play. It's all up to him. Not doing that honestly is going to cost him millions in regard to the draft.

He’s underperforming his paychecks. It’s simple as that. Hard to be paying future first rounder type of money for a WR when he may be our 3rd best WR at best.

Im not a fan of the coaches putting him back there to return kicks however he is passionate about Alabama football. He's had drop issues and has made some amazing catches that Ty has thrown behind him.

He's 18 years old, he needs more time to develop mentally and physically.

My thing even more than the drops is he’s not even close to a focus of the offense. Any great player in an offense has a team try to get them going early, and we just don’t even bother. Do we see in practice he’s just not close to a player of that caliber? Idk, regardless it’s disappointing

He's just another talented dude out there. Definitely no superstar or even star WR.

All the extracurricular stuff makes you think he's not focused. Used to players were incredibly hungry to develop their talent to get to the league to make millions. Now they already have a few million...more money than 90% of people will have in their entire lifetime. It's just human nature to not have the same fire and desire unless you're just built with that competitive nature.

I have no idea how hard he works and what he focuses on. But I will say that he lived off last year's Georgia game. He wasn't anything special the second half of the season. I don't think he's keeping DCs up at night like a Julio or Coop did...not even close.

Literally posted the same sentiment a few weeks ago and people screamed his support. One of the NCAA leaders in pass drops……and just doesn’t produce anything like #5.

Super talented but questionable hands and size is a problem.

Who cares?…

Fumble sucks but he’s probably going to finish with 900 yards in a sophomore slump.

Could be way worse, like sitting on a the bench for 4 years like Robert Foster

Arrogant may have been the wrong word. But starting a podcast as a freshman, twitch streaming for hours every day in the offseason, and some of the attention seeking stuff like the T-Rex just comes off a little wrong to me.

Not saying RW is a bad person, he’s 18 and I shouldn’t have drunkenly insulted him last night. But it is what it is when your production is so low in relation to your NIL. The reactions will be negative to some of the excess stuff you’ve done.

I do not understand why grown men are getting upset about a T Rex that we saw for fifteen seconds

18 year old kid twitch streams is… pretty damn generic 18 year old kid stuff. And it’s in the offseason at that

I could’ve said the nail painting or Tik Tok dancing or any of the other things that make him seem like an unserious dude compared to guys like Germ.

But again, these are silly things that would be looked over if the production matched the flash. If he gets it together, then do whatever you want.

The only place I’ve seen that on is here. And it’s largely just trying to find any nit to pick

It doesn’t change the fact it’s just plain stupid. If it wasn’t the T Rex, it would be how he opens the door, or how he goes about his warmups.

It’s like when the fanbase was whining about the length of DeBoers collar

No one takes you seriously with these type of complaints
