“All we have to do is beat Auburn in Jordan Hare.”

Yep. With the worst run game in recent memory, an inconsistent offensive line and a quarterback who’s indecisive. Sounds like it’s going to be 2005 all over again.

Auburn got a bye week, mercer, and then us. Plenty of time to prepare and pull out all the stops.

I feel like half of you get off on fantasizing about Auburn losses

We’ve won 11 of the last 14, we have two weeks of prep, and we came out last year well positioned for them. Chill out, we can freak out if our first half looks like Auburn-Georgia but it does us no good to do this dooming.

Penciling in a loss is like when half of y’all started screeching about 6-6 in September

PLUS

We likely don't face Brent Venables or Gus Malzahn again.

Off topic, if any GM wanted to hire them both out of here to the league, I'd be immensely grateful.

Two of the last five wins were miracles. If Auburn is competitive in this game I will be disappointed with this team. Auburn is better than their record, but still not a good team. The SEC is competitive, but at a lower level since NIL.

What if we beat Auburn and lose in the SECCG? Does a 3 loss Bama team make it?

I think it depends. Overall I think yes. We would finish top 2 in our division.

But… if the Aggies beat us say 42-13 or something embarrassing and it gets ugly…

I say no.

But seeing how Aggies and us both needed miracles against USCe… I’d say we’re probably pretty neck and neck with one another

I thought championship game losses wouldn't have a bearing on playoffs?

They said that last year. Would it apply this year? Not sure.

I hope that we don’t have to play in the SECCG at this point. Genuinely. Do like Ohio State last year and miss the conference championship game.

That's not a possibility unless we lose to Auburn in which case we won't make the playoffs at all. Our only 2 paths are beat Auburn and play in the SEC Championship or lose to Auburn and be out of the playoffs.

Depends on if the committee is consistent with their previous statements. They said last year teams wouldn't be punished for playing an extra game and losing. I don't know that I trust them to stand by that though.

FWIW in CBS’s projections they had Alabama losing the SEC championship with a 10-3 record and still having a home game as the 6-seed.

I agree with that.

We're in a 1 game season and Grubb and Co better be watching auburn film as we speak.

Same for Wommack...suddenly post Freeze au found some offense. There's limited tape...mainly the Vandy game, but it's there.

By that same logic their defense is suddenly terrible.

Pavia can make a defense look bad...he's had their number 3 years in a row. I expect a very good, aggressive defense waiting for Bama.

I saw one cfp projection that had us at #6 if we beat auburn and lose the seccg...playing Ga Tech at home in the first round with Indiana potentially after that.

Obviously want to win the SEC if the opportunity is there, but I'd take that playoff scenario all day long otherwise.

Another had us on the road at Oregon with Georgia potentially after that...not so good of a scenario.

But unless we BEAT AUBURN it's all moot.
