If Ole Miss, UGA, and Alabama finish 7-1 in the SEC, who plays in the SEC Championship?

What happens in that scenario?

Georgia beat Ole Miss
Alabama beat Georgia

What if A&M loses to Texas?

This is a year where it would be perfectly ok to miss out on the SEC championship due to a tiebreaker and make the playoffs anyway.

If A&M loses to Texas, UGA vs Bama.

It sounds like alabama.

I think a good question is what does the playoff seeding look like if you have:

11-1 UGA
11-1 Ole Miss
11-1 A&M
11-2 alabama (SEC Champion)
10-2 Oklahoma

I would think the 1 loss teams would be seeded higher

If we lose to auburn , we don’t deserve to be there anyway.

I’m wondering if this is the last SEC championship game we’ll ever see, or at least one of them. With playoff implications there isn’t much of a reason to risk a loss and injuries for a championship game. Someone will eventually opt out.

I’d put money on the championship going to a record with tie breakers in the next 3 years.

Would 10-2 Vanderbilt get in?

Alabama wins all tiebreaker scenarios. The REC put it in the charter or something

We shouldn't be in the NC picture at all, but this new stupid format says games like this don't matter.

I hate it. There was a time when you had to be elite.

A&M is NOT losing to Texas. Bank on it.

Plus SEC goes to 9 games (bad idea) next year

I warn you not to make a bet on that.

Did you not see them play South Carolina today? They easily should have lost. Texas is better than South Carolina and it's AT Texas.

Aggie: Beat Texas
BAMA: Beat Aub
UGA: Aggie or BAMA loses
Ole Miss: Beat State and need Aggie and BAMA to both lose.

SEC Champ is guaranteed a bye to the Sugar Bowl. Seeding would come down to final CFP rankings.

SEC Champ is NOT guaranteed a BYE. heck it's even likely if 2 loss Bama wins the conference. The automatic BYEs are gone...it's just the top 4 teams

The playoff committee got rid of automatic BYEs for conference champions.

The 4 highest ranked teams get the BYEs now. alabama likely lost any shot at a BYE today.

1 loss UGA and Ole Miss will likely be ranked ahead of alabama even if they win the SEC.
