Wildest thing I saw going to five games in Ames was presidential candidates working the tailgates. You dont see that everywhere.

Wish we’d left with Arkansas in the 90’s. It’s awesome and no comparison to being in the Big 12. Nothing like playing in full stadiums where people care.

Of course Texas likes the SEC. They were perennial nobodies playing bad competition in the little 12. They love being mention in the same breath as Bama/UGA/LSU instead of being dog walked by Baylor, Iowa State, and Kansas State.

There is the alternate reality where Texas and a few others ended up in the Pac12. Hard to know what college football future would have looked like.
Culturally, Texas (the university) has more in common culturally with the west coast than say LSU or Ole’Miss.
That said the gravity of college football is the SEC and the Big10. So, it’s worked and will work out.
Games are 100 percent better. Matchups more fun. Football is more fun.
