For what it’s worth, I’d much rather live in Florida than Mississippi or Louisiana.

Depends on where in FL and where in MS.

There are some really nice parts of MS (Pass Christian, Oxford, etc) and some really bad parts of FL (parts of northern rural FL with major meth issues, trashy inland areas in C FL and parts of S FL with horrible crime that are barely recognizable as American).

But by and large? Absolutely.

Depends where in Florida where Oxford is concerned. BR is a pit though

Let's not think of Gainesville Florida the same as coastal Florida.

Gainesville, FL = Valdosta, GA. They're just an hour and 45 minutes apart on I75. Same distance from the gulf. Gainesville is a bit closer to the Atlantic.

Doubt Lane would live in Gainesville proper. Plus I’m sure he’d have a place in South Florida during the off season.

I think Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Texas are the only habitable states in the Southeast.

I'd rather live in California than Georgia, but I wouldn't take a UCLA HC job over a UGA HC job

And there isn't anything particularly special about Georgia. Hell, I'd probably choose Florida over Georgia depending on where in Florida we're talking.

Texas isn't the Southeast.

Johns Creek was voted the best place in the United States to live by the US News. Alpharetta was like #22.

Congrats. I could probably find some other magazine or paper that rates them completely differently. None of it really matters, objectively. People have very different reasons for wanting to live in particular places. I could make a lot more money living in New York City, but that would one of the last places I'd choose to live. Fayetteville is a really nice town, but I have no reason to live in Arkansas. If I were retired, I would choose to live anywhere near the beach or mountains over Alpharetta.

He has a spot in Florida now. He has access to a jet anytime he needs it. Not like he is driving from Gainsville to Boca. Under 2 hour flight from Oxford to Boca.

You said there was nothing special about Georgia. I provided evidence that there is. Your personal preference is your personal preference.

I mean, ratings or not, there is really nothing special about either of those towns. Maybe they are great places to raise kids if in comparison to Atlanta.
