Texas is a very good run defense, best in SEC at 75 YPG, but passing defense is 12th at 235 YPG. Texas has middle of SEC in total offense at 10th. They will try to hit big pass plays all night long, it's going to be a test for Dawgs corners and safety's. Dawgs need to stay out of long 3th downs and have some success on ground, and keep TX offense off field. I don't see this game becoming a shoot out, but do see both teams in 20 to 30 point range. The one point that sticks out about TX, in last 5 games they have given up 298,210,258,382,365 passing yards. I like our chances at home, but its going to be deep 4th quarter battle.

If there's ever been a game where needed to pressure and sack the QB this is it. Manning has a strong tendency to wilt quickly under pressure and his mechanics go to crap. I pray we don't witness another game of pitch and catch because he does have the ability to get hot if given the opportunity.

Alabama would've been the game where we needed to pressure and sack the quarterback, because their quarterback actually went through progressions and threw passes further than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage.

Texas offense has settled into a chickenshit horizontal quick game offense, so open field tackling will probably be way more important than pressuring the quarterback.

This is the second time you have used “3th” in less than a week. Are you crazy or just plain stupid?

Probably a combination of both, since I waited 20 years for UGAs 1980 Championship and 40 years for the next one.

Last night I watched both Texas games from last year and it was jarring at how differnet we looked. Like it might as well have not even been UGA. I know the portal era fricks your roster over yearly but all of the guys below made at least one noteworthy play against Texas last year, and are no longer on our team this year:

beck
dom lovett
etienne
arian
mykell
jalon walker
dan jackson
chambliss
starks
80% of the OL (fairchild/wilson/ratledge/truss)
damon wilson

I mean damn. Granted...not all of beck's noteworthy plays were positive ones, ditto for some others no longer here (julian humphrey ie). But still...it was a bit surprising.

Probably a reaction to Arch wilting under pressure

The kid's not afraid to take a hit and he's a tough SOB. I don't know where this narrative is coming from. He's had shitty mechanics regardless of who is or isn't in his face.
