What coach is going to work in this circus? “Yes, our AD said you were fired, but we didn’t need to tell you why you were fired in the agreed upon time limit because he didn’t mean it for realsiies. Wasn’t official you know. So, uh, we have cause. Really. Afraid we can’t pay you that 54 million dollars we said we would, because seriously we weren’t firing you on account of getting your arse beat so badly. It was for…uh…another reason.”

LSU may be the least desirable job open:

Its fricking amazing LSU football has been as successful as it has been the last 25 years. Politics in La is already a sport in itself, but the BOS at LSU takes it to a whole new level.

I love LSU and LSU football and history says we will likely hire a coach who will have us winning (and probably winning big occasionally). If it happens, it will be with the state and local government, BOS and LSU admins doing stupid shite like this every step of the way.

Money and a chance to win a title speak a ton

It is why teams like LSU and UF will have bidders by the spades...most will be very bad but still...HBC are very confident, both are in very good recruiting states, have very good stadiums, a ton of money, big fanbases..while they're negatives to both you can win a title at each and both recruit well(unless Dan Mullen is your HBC).

LSU was dumb to fire him mid-season this year. The coaching carousel was already surrounded by a full blown circus by the time they pulled triggers.

If they can't figure out how to fire someone correctly, I have zero confidence they'll make a halfway decent hire.

This is what happens when you make executive halfbaked decisions. There was no genius in any of it, all impulsive stupidity and ego.

For sure, a really bad move now looking at it.
