To get things started, here is a list of somewhat attainable OCs I'm hoping we are looking at this offseason:

- Petrino jr (missouri state)
- Petrino sr (arky)
- Andy Kotelnicki (PSU but he was solid at ku)
- Ole Miss Asst (I find anyone learning from Lane intriguing)
- Napier (UF)
- Freeze (Auburn)
- Cincy OC
- Utah OC
- NC State OC
- Gtech OC

Will our budget allow us to get an established name or will we need to mine the small schools/up-and-comer? If we gotta go cheap, I'd really like to take a serious look at Petrino jr.

EDIT: See surgicalvenom's posts at bottom of first page about Drink to PSU.

Please don't think of me as bragging. I enjoy the board and being the admin but yes I am a donor and I can say with 100% confidence, that if Drink let's Moore walk, there is no issue with him making a sizable offer to steal an OC. In fact, it is expected of him to sell himself and the program and leave the money to donors.

Moore had 1 year of experience at Fresno, Drink didn't really want to be hands off, so easy to sell Moore on working together. The next OC needs to be able to work independently of Drink.

Freeze may be a great option because that would push Drink out of the play calling, which we need. He would be doing a rehab job, so we would get his best. But he has chewed up some QB talent himself.

Petrino Sr has to answer 1 question. What the hell is up with your 2nd half offense? They do their damage in the 1st half and go dormant in the 2nd half.

A young gun from Ole Miss brings a different mindset, but does Drink interfere with a young guy. Maybe Finley comes back as OC.

Derrick Nix had Auburn put up some serious numbers vs Vandy. Over 500 yards. Maybe if that keeps happening, he could be a candidate. Plus he's a good southern recruiter.

Do the posters think Eli even sees the OC as a problem?

Drink sees it. He's not looking to fire Kirby in-season and torpedo the guys career. Kirby can find a soft landing spot after the next 3 games, maybe with his brother in New Orleans.

Eli sees an easy fall guy for his own coaching deficiencies.

Eli has been complaining about the offense since week 4.

His contract expires. If he was going to come back they would have signed a new contract by now. Odds are pretty low that KM will be back.

Which needs to be at Mizzou if Drink does leave (he won’t though).

So let’s get a new OC and a healthy QB with some experience and party into 2026 friends.

Drink will announce he's accepted the PSU job after Senior night. Probably a Monday midday announcement

Is this a prediction out of thin air?

Like I posted earlier, the expectation from donors is for Drink to request a bag and to a hard target search for an OC. The feeling is the donors are more ready to move forward than he is. 1 of 2 reasons:

Extremely loyal to Moore, will let him leave at the end of the season but risk transfers if the team mood sours.

Leaving Moore in place to possibly finish the season as HC after he announces PSU job. Gives Mizzou a chance to keep recruiting in tact.

The mood and money is there for Drink to make the move. Why hasn't he pulled the trigger.

Whose mood? His? Ours? Moods, whether good or bad, tend to lead to bad decisions .

Sorry, the mood is Drink is the guy but he needs to pull off a big hire. The donors are 100% on board. But the feeling is Drink isn't 100% committed to the plan. At least not at this moment.

It's like that feeling you get when you ask your wife "what's wrong" and she says "nothing." You know somethings wrong, but you hope its not big. Maybe Drinks just really disappointed right now and maybe emotional.
