think your team may hire ?

Yes, I asked this before but it was a week or 2.

I know some LSU fans think they may hire the interim coach, and if the team plays well for him that seems like a reasonable candidate in this pay for play era. A good coaching staff around a guy like that may be better than an old guy that has trouble assembling a great staff

Honestly, someone on the younger side.

HC experience doesn't matter, even though we had good luck with the last two guys we brought in from slightly smaller programs. All the names like Matt Campbell or Jeff Brohm are set where they are. I do not see them moving. Sumrall seems like another Napier to me.

I wouldn't mind LSU looking at co-ordinators. I like guys like Will Stein and Collin Klien, just to name two.

Of the big names, who would we get? They are all either too old or set where they are.

But the Florida fanbase already guaranteed that Kiffin will be their HC.

Not too sure.

Really just hoping for someone who is either an offensive/defensive minded coach and can hire competent coordinators who are good at their jobs.

Keep some of our current staff, Raymond, Wilson, Thomas…

I don’t care about a BIG name. Just give me someone with passion and grit. Someone who WANTS it. Someone who will embody being LSU.

Don't know enough about all the coaches being mentioned to have a favorite hire. Do have a NOWAY on one being talked about. Clark Lea at vandy. No NO NO. curly had Brett Favre while at southern miss before getting the LSU job. Lea has Pavia. Vandy would not have beat LSU without him. Want to more of Lea without Pavia.

I think Kiffin is the only "big name" they'd have a shot with and don't know how realistic that is.

There does seem to be a weird vibe when Heupel is mentioned for some reason. Just can't see him moving.

I see no reason Freeman would leave.

So Sumrall, Brohm, Key are probably the most realistic sitting head coaches.

Maybe Dillingham.

I think Joe Brady is a pipe dream, Kelvin Sheppard would probably take it but is inexperienced.

Frank probably has to win out to get a look.

After the dust settles, it will probably be Heupel (still in his 40's), Lebby (w/ Baby Briles at OC), Eric Morris, James Franklin, Matt Rhule (15 mil buyout now) and someone else along those lines.

Marcus Freeman isn't leaving Notre Dame, but strange shite happens.
Saban was akin to a magician literally pulling a rabbit out of his a-hole.
Gruden has too much baggage.
Frank Wilson is just a recruiter.
Matt Campbell isn't leaving Iowa State and is a Mid-West man.

The timing isn't right for Kiffin, and Sexton will be trying to get him more money which would be stupid at Ole Miss. Lane knows that money would be better spent on NIL.

There is always the chance something from left field pops up, but I doubt it.

Two guys coaching at their alma maters and another who is married to an Auburn grad.

Another guy coaching his alma mater in his home state.

LSU is probably better off passing on him anyways.

He'd be my pick.

Please God let this happen.

ETA: Not win out, but get the job.

They will try Kiffin but I think he stays in Oxford. He's a good fit there.

If Heupel is unhappy with Tenn for whatever reason I could see them making that call.

Drinkwitz or Dillingham would be a couple of younger possibilities.

Kelvin Sheppard will get an interview and there is some appeal to hiring a former LSU player after BK coasted through 3.5 years.

I don't think getting a big name is nearly as important as the last cycle. It will be more about fit and passion.
